Brass K & E Tripod for Brunton Pocket Transit Compass Original Tube No. 5360
This is a tripod made by Keuffel& Esser for use with a Brunton pocket transit/compass. It is solid brass so not to effect compass. There is a small bit of damage on one of the legs at top(See photo of head) Easy repair or use as is. Also missing two screws at top of legs. I have not polished it up but would clean up beautifully(Some people like original patina) It is 16 1/2" when collapsed legs are approximately 52" long when extended. Comes with original cardboard tube with K& E label. Has hook for plumb bob.

Starrett 99F Transit With Original Box Good Condition No Legs This was to be a project that I never got around to finishin’ Needs a good cleaning and the inside of the box is missing. Everything moves just fine Level has bubble Optics are intact no cracks or discoloration There is a lock pin and chain missing for the horizon detent Nickel plating is worn away in places Surface rust. Some pitting but not too serious Does not have the legs…maybe you do? Box could stand refinishing but you can make out the Starrett name on the front as well as a stenciled something The carry strap will have to be replaced…too short for the buckle I believe this to be an older model because of the box style with no name on top and no ridges on top The buckle type strap I don’t believe the wood is oak either. Could be mahogany? there are two latches on this as ... moreopposed to one on the newer boxes The transit has a brass eyepiece and chromed front piece rather than the plastic evident on the newer models As I said this was a project and still is. This is a very rare early engineering item made by one of the top tool companies of the 1900's Starrett. USA" The whole transit and tripod break down and go in to box except the legs. This appears to be a complete kit and it still works like the day it was new! Transit is a little dirty as i picked this item out of a old barn and it has been stored in the rafters for nearly 100 years. It has some slight surface ... morerust on transit and its quite dirty. legs are great, they do have paint loss and some surface rust but they still come apart and adjust beautifully. I didnt want to clean anything up because I would want to do it myself if I purchased item to make sure it was done correct. This really is a amazing set that would look great in any collection or it could still be used to this day. These old sets by Starrett are nearly impossible to find complete and original like this one. The box even has its original leather strao still on it. Box roughly measures 14.5" x 5" x 10. Box with transit weightsnearly 7 pounds and the legs weight nearly another nine pounds. I will ship together or seperately, depending on which service is cheaper or preference of winner. Transit is in very good vintage condition. Lens look nice and clear! Box and Tripod are in good vintage condition. All items show normal wear from use and age. For sale we have a nice Lietz model 115 Transit. This unit is in super nice shape the scope and crosshairs are nice and clear and everything works smoothley.The only problem is with the guard as you can see in the picture it needs two screws to attach it back on the transit. The threads look fine it will take two screws.I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this unit. Very nice cased Lietz transit#6402. All level vials are intact. And the optics are clear and perfect. It has one vertical crosshair, and two horizontal crosshairs in the top and bottom quadrant. I don't know if it was used in mining or not. There is a steel ring at the top center of the barrel, that I do not know the function of. All adjustment knobs and adjustments work as they should. The wooden case has a broken leather carrying strap, and I have no key for the box. The compass needle is a little over 4" long, and the dial 5" in diameter. Antique David White Company 1950 Universal Level Transit Surveying Instrument
David White Company 1950 Universal Level Transit This surveying tool comes with it's own carrying/storage case. The wooden box is tongue and groove with a latch on the front that holds it closed. The leather strap and buckle go across the top for carrying. The box was painted red. With one side being grey. The bottom has rubber bumpers so it doesn't sit flat on the ground. I shows some wear giving this antique a unique look. It works like it's supposed to, storage/carrying. Dimensions of box: 14"L x 11 1/4"H x 6 3/4"W The suveying tool is in quite good condition. It swivels. The scope moves up and down, and the knobs turn quite smoothly. The bottom is threaded so it can be placed on a tri-pod. BRUNSON Oak legged Tripod Surveyor's Transit Stand fits: Keuffel& Esser. Dietzgen and any other Transits with a 3-1/2" 8 threads 59" length of legs. Each leg has a steel end cap for positioning it in the ground. Sturdy construction of solid Oak wood. The threads and mount are brass(perfect threads) And have an aluminum thread protector ring that reads: BRUNSON K. C. MO. 3 1/2" 8 THREADS. This piece may not be perfect but will make an excellent project or a user. The paint could be removed and to really set it off. It could be stained for a more traditional look. One of the legs end cap is missing its foot peg. One of the legs has tape wrapped around the bottom that held on a strap at one time. The tape is fibrous and very old. Vintage Slom Type SN 1 C Work Site Level w/ Alum case and tripod ( Paris 1960's)
Up for grabs is a Vintage Slom Type SN 1 C Work Site Level with Aluminum case and tripod( Paris France 1960’s? This work site level was I believe used to level Bobst die cutters in the mid to late 60’s.There is a 4 page brochure in only fair shape that explains features and gives instructions on its use. Only thing is they are written in French. I went on-line to translate some phrases and I will include what I found in the description. When looking thru the eye piece the optics are clear and you see several of both vertical and horizontal cross hairs. The eyepiece and knob on the side of unit next to the Slom name both adjust for focus. The right knob of 3 when looking thru it has graduations and degree settings that can be focused, by the smaller thumbwheel to the left of knob that raises and lowers lens. The middle knob locks the rotation ... moreof level. The left knob I think adjusts to line up split bubble that is on top when viewed thru second eye hole to left of main viewer. The 2 knobs on the base tilt the level front/back-left/right. There is 1 knob in the front that lowers or raises the lens. There are 2 leveling bubbles. One that you have to get in a bulls-eye and the other a regular level type bubble. The hard case is slightly dented beneath the leather handle, it has a cast aluminum base and a steel cover with locking latches and leather handle. There is a small wrench and plumb bob with string and holder. The very rugged Tripod is original to the set has the correct top plate that fits into the keyhole slot on the base of the level. Folded the tripod is about 36” tall, extended about 59”There is no method of locking the legs in a set position, but there is locking the length of the legs. There is also a knob underneath the top plate that allows you to move level back and forth and lock in position. What would hold the legs in position are the metal tips that you sink into the ground.
