Up for your consideration is a Wild Heerbrugg T16-68 DEG Theodolite. This is a military piece with FSN 66-75-770-4958 T16-172847 U.S. 1973. It comes in its unique. Original, padded, wooden case. It is has various chips and scratches, but is functional other than one knob that has broken off(see photo) I am sure this is repairable/replaceable. This piece is being sold as is. Please ask any questions you might have. Make sure to look at the other related items that I currently have listed. I mainly use Fed Ex even though the calculator shows it as UPS. WILD RDS-135344 RDS Self-Reducing Tacheometer/ Theodolite Includes items exactly as shown in photo- includes instrument and bullet case. This Wild RDS Vertical Staff Tacheometer is designed for use with a vertical staff for tacheometric surveys and setting-out on construction sites. It can also be used as a normal theodolite. The RDS corresponds to the as a fully-fledged direct scale-reading instrument. With the normal stadia lines however, being replaced by very flat curves projected into the field of view. These flat reduction curves give a direct horizontal distance reading and a height difference involving no tables and only a simple mental multiplication. These readings are read directly as intercepts of a graduated vertical staff at one telescope pointing.

Manufactured 1970 in Switzerland. This theodolite is the type used for verifying the pointing accuracy of a military weapon such as mortar or howitzer cannons to measure azimuth with precision fire control. The T16 can also be used for long range shooters sighting in your sporting rifle. The T16- 68 MIL Theodolite is a compact. Lightweight, dust-proof, optical-reading, direction type instrument with a repeater clamp for measuring vertical and horizontal angles. The scales, graduated in mils, may be read directly to 0.2 mil and, by estimation, to the nearest 0.1 mil.
