David White Company 1950 Universal Level Transit This surveying tool comes with it's own carrying/storage case. The wooden box is tongue and groove with a latch on the front that holds it closed. The leather strap and buckle go across the top for carrying. The box was painted red. With one side being grey. The bottom has rubber bumpers so it doesn't sit flat on the ground. I shows some wear giving this antique a unique look. It works like it's supposed to, storage/carrying. Dimensions of box: 14"L x 11 1/4"H x 6 3/4"W The suveying tool is in quite good condition. It swivels. The scope moves up and down, and the knobs turn quite smoothly. The bottom is threaded so it can be placed on a tri-pod. It is made of wood and metal and the strap on it is broken. So it will have to be fixed. strap holds the unit together for transport) It is in used condition with some scratches and paint flaking off. The David White TR-300 Mountain transit by Path offers a step up from the basic level transit in terms of accuracy in angle turning and plumbing. In part because the scope"transits" a full 360 degrees in the vertical plane. Angles are read to 5-minutes via vernier, The 24x telescope optic is of good quality. This is a useful vintage David White Meridian surveyor's transit made by Realistic. Menomonee Falls, Wis. It is in working condition with some wear to it. Rust on several areas and missing what I think is a Plumb Bob(there is an empty clip attached to base) Item with cover is approx. 15" side clip to clip. Oval base is about 14 1/4" x 5 1/2" Base is black and instrument is grey with a red cover. Overall it is approx. 15"x5"x9"h. Instrument is approx. 7 1/4" high with a level on top. Carry handle is black plastic. It is a Model 8080. Please, scan the pictures carefully to ascertain description. Instrument rotates easily on base. Has light dirt, scratches, and ware throughout. All glass is intact. Levels work well, along with compass. Transit itself is not marked, only compass is. This is how I aquired it. Sheet of paper on shipping/damages was issued from White Company and in the box. I do not know what model this is, or anything about this item. All knobs turn. No cracks. Needs a cleaning. Box is intact. It is dirty mostly on inside, and does have a few cracks to it that go through box. Box is very strong tho. Latch works well and is tight. Up for auction is a David& White survey transit. Model 8300 I bought this at a garage sale. So I don't know much about it. I did do a little bit of research on it and it appears to be from 1941. Take a look at the chart and you'll see the serial number(109821) falls in between the 1941 and 1942 year bracket. It appears to be in good shape, clear optics. It comes with a hard"Grey not Orange" case. But no manual or accessories, only what you see in the pics. All that being said this piece is being sold as is. Powered by Up for sale today we have a antique vintage David White Transit Surveying Builder's Dumpy Level with case and 3-1/2" W. L.E. Gurley Tripod Stand. The Builder's Dumpy Level is in excellent overall condition for its age. The lens is very clean and allows the user to view objects either close or far away, unsure of the exact range, but when tested an object with 6" lettering was seen clearly and legible. The levels are also accurate. The tripod is in good overall condition, but one of the bolts for the leg does not tighten on the stand. The stand measures 60" in max. height. Includes everything that you see in the pictures. The strap that wraps around the case is broken, the remaining portion of what is left can be seen on the sides. VINTAGE Antique 1940s DAVID WHITE CO. Transit#32813 Level with wood Tripod- Stand Shade and Brass Lens Cover Wood Box Original 57" Wood Tripod This transit comes with the original box and tripod. Both which have been painted a grey color. One of the legs has a crack in it that has been repaired with screws prior to the painting. I do not know if the transit is in working condition. David White Level-Transit Surveying Scope Vintage With Wooden Box Model 8300
This listing is for a very nice David White level-transit surveying scope. This is model 8300 and in great condition. This particular model is supposedly the best transit level made. I think it's from the 1960s. This is a beautiful piece for work or display. Great for the steampunk fans. It has lots of brass fittings and trim and would be lovely polished up. It comes in a heavy duty wooden case with a very sturdy carrying strap. Everything seems to be in good working order. All pieces move smoothly with no effort. The pictures just don't show how nice this is.
