This is a Berger Engineering Instruments survey transit level which was produced by Berger and Sons Inc. Boston 19, Mass. This piece is in worn condition. The screws are easily adjustable and the telescope rotates easily around the base. The bubble of the level moves from side to side. The side of the instrument has a small brass tag with the number 2K 3748. I am not sure if this is a model number. The instrument sit snugly into the wooden box. The box is in good condition. The leather strap is broken and the brass tag showing Berger Engineering Instruments is missing. The two latches on the box still work. This is a nice vintage transit level
