Older and original Swiss Made optical system made by the world leading company Kern Aarau All original and complete. Fully functional. Swiss made military( surveyors scope. level. Adjustable tripod base assembly. Dated 1933( on the bottom of the base tripod is stamped the numbers"33" It has the original finish with only signs of normal gentle use. No signs of any damage. Or wear and tear from abuse. The scope mount base is stamped" Kern Aarau" No 21859" The scope is in excellent condition with all adjustments of the whole assembly in nice tight and smooth functioning. There is a removable steel lens cap for the objective lens. The scope has multiple adjustments( please see pics) And the function of these is in good condition. The level is intact and adjustable and functioning without any defects( this is rare as these ... moreglass fluid filled levels can leak and/or crack/ break) The tripod base has 3 foot adjustability. The scope also has lateral and rotational adjustability within the base. The scope is also removable both for storage and or transport. But also to be able to use the scope or base with other equipment. The tripod base has a brass center cap that is removable to allow the assembly to be mounted to a Kern Aarau or comparable standing base( monopod. Bipod, or tripod) I have had this in my private collection for a while and Im selling it as well as other Swiss optical equipment only because I have decided to concentrate on my binocular collection( so please see my other current and future listings) This device is in superb original condition and would be a good addition to any collection. It is a collectors dream piece. And of museum quality. These are exceptionally rare and this is the only one of its kind that I have ever seen before. I'm not a surveyor and don't know much about theodolites I purchased this a couple of years ago and just got around to researching it. If your reading this you probably know a lot more than I do. I did take it to a fellow who owns a Surveying company and he was very impressed with it. He was getting ready to retire or he said he would have made me an offer. As the photos show it is in like new condition there is not a mark on it. The battery container is clean so it was well taken care of. you can use the ebay shipping calculator for shipping cost just put in your zip code. The set weighs 43 lbs. before packing and will be an oversized package. Local pick up is fine with me.Check the photos for condition and email me with any questions.
