ANOTHER ONE OF JACK'S AUCTIONS! Well used and with a couple of obvious issues. This is a David White Realist Transit, model TR303. The first obvious issue is the front lens which is VERY cloudy. I've pictured that in my second-to-last picture. It looks as though someone tried to remove the lens. I say that because the two notches that you use to unscrew the ring around the lens have a mark on them. The other obvious issue is that one of the two clear-glass windows that cover the degree markings is missing. That can be seen in my last picture above. All the dials and levels seem to work as they should. I'm not knowledable about transits so I can't tell you how well it will work when you clean or replace the lens. Come with its red carrying case that snaps onto the base of it. The instrument is in good vintage condition and the carrying case is solid. The handle is holding fast. Serial number is 106228. This tool was obviously used. Like I said it is in good vintage condition but there are some indicators of its age. The case especially is worn with a lot of the paint scraped off and some oxidation on the metal fixtures. The tool itself has some surface wear and slight oxidation here and there. The glass has some discoloration but still looks alright. I am not an expert on this kind of tool, however I don't see any substantial damage to it. The carrying case has spray paint on it. But when opened. The level looks like it has never been removed from the case or used. There are no scratches or any indication of wear on it. Even the Owner's Guide and registration form show no dirt, fingerprints, or signs of use. One of the papers included in the Owner's Guide says: Model numbers have changed. This has a few very small scratches and the case has wear and a small crack. The instrument has no dings or evidence of being dropped. There may be a piece of foam missing from the case but i'm not sure as it all fits very snugly. It comes with a 6 oz brass bob and is Menomonee Fall. Wisconsin. David White Meridian Realist 8010 Surveyors Level Transit with Case & Tripod
This is a vintage surveying instrument and tri-pod. I believe it is a David White Meridian Level Transit Realist 8010. The research I did on it leads me to believe it is from the early 1930's The level's case has the kind of wear you would expect to see after years and years of use on the job. Also has what looks to be a driver's license number faintly engraved on the case. The tripod also shows plenty of use but is completely functional. Legs are approximately 59 inches long. Great item for industrial look home décor as well as intended use. Please do not hesitate to ask for additional pictures or ask questions. Better to iron out details before the auction ends. Also. If you plan to be in the Portland Metro area in the next couple weeks I would be more than happy to do a no-cost pick up from my worksite in Vancouver, WA.

This is a useful vintage David White Meridian surveyor's transit made by Realistic. Menomonee Falls, Wis. It is in working condition with some wear to it. Rust on several areas and missing what I think is a Plumb Bob(there is an empty clip attached to base) Item with cover is approx. 15" side clip to clip. Oval base is about 14 1/4" x 5 1/2" Base is black and instrument is grey with a red cover. Overall it is approx. 15"x5"x9"h. Instrument is approx. 7 1/4" high with a level on top. Up for sale is a Very Nice David White Realist Universal 8114 Transit in its Original Hardshell case and Tripod. Transit is in very nice condition- all knobs work smoothly. Secures properly to Tripod even has original brass plum-bob. The transit weighs almost 8 pounds and it is machined from brass. The case is in good shape no names engraved in the plastic or florescent paint that you see on some tools it has some scuffs but is sound and latches all work properly. The metal Tripod is not bent or dented but paint is scratched it even has original leather strap to secure when folded at varying widths for height adjustment. Flat shipping rate on this item because it will ship in two separate boxes. If the buyer is not interested in the Tripod. Shipping will be less, but I have no use for it so I cant give you a discount other then shipping sorry.
