Bidding on a vintage Simpson Model 260 multimeter. The date written inside the case is from 1961. The unit has been bench tested and everything works. A"D" cell battery is required for operating the ohmeter but it has been removed to reduce shipping costs and prevent corrosion. All switches. Knobs and dials work and the meter"zeros" properly. The leather carrying strap is attached. There is no case. The probes are included but the wires have some cracks.

The hold down strap in the case is present. But the snap is missing. I did test it on DC volts by measuring a variable output of a DC supply. Meter worked on all DC scales. I am able to measure AC shop voltage. One battery for resistance is not up to proper level. So OHM cannot be tested. The 30 volt battery is only at 26.7 VDC. There are NO METER LEADS or manuals. Cosmetically it has the usage marks. There is a cosmetic defect upper left corner. Selling as described above with limited testing. Weston Vintage 663 Volt Ohm Meter Volt Ohmmeter VOM Multimeter As Is
Up for bidding is a vintage Weston model 663 analog Volt Ohm meter. Commonly referred to as a VOM. It is a nicely designed unit, and features 1 and 5 KVolt AC and DC scales. I briefly tested this item and found that it worked on the DC Volts. AC Volts and lower resistance scales(except the 10K Ohms scale) The resistance measurement function uses a 1.5 Volt"D" cell for the lower scales and a 15 Volt cell for the 10K Ohms scale, neither of which are supplied. I did not have a 15 Volt cell for testing, thus I am not sure whether the 10K Ohms scale works. I was not able to get this item to work on the DC current scale. It also appears to have a 0.25 DC Volts scale, which I did not test. The meter movement seems to be in good working order. The negative spring contact of for the 1.5 Volt battery is missing. This item also requires test ... moreleads. Which are not supplied. The front panel could use a little cleaning, which should be possible as the lettering appears to be printed on the back side of the clear plastic panel. Vintage EICO VOM Multimeter Presenting for auction is a vintage EICO Multimeter Model 565. This meter was produced in 1956 and is still in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks in the case. I do not have a means of testing the meters operation but I have opened the case and inspected the circuitry. The components look good with no obvious issues such as loose connectors or overheating. The tester uses 4 AA batteries and 1 D cell. There was corrosion on the AA battery connectors but I cleaned them up and burnished the contacts. Unfortunately. The test leads are missing but can be replaced easily. Description Vintage Simpson 260 Series 5 Analog Millameter Volt Amp Ohm Meter multimeter VOM For sale a vintage Simpson 260 Series 5 meter. This is one of the best meters in Simpson lineup.Plain dial, banana plugs. This unit can be calibrated, unlike most of the new testers. It also works without batteries for everything but ohm measurement, so that it will never be out of commision when you need it most. It has none of the other bad design mistakes such as reversed banana plugs from series 7 on up. Or that stupid relay that does not protect your meter all the time(must have a good 9V inside to work) but adds to the load on the circuit. Newer digital meter will have the high input impedance of a DVM. Typically 10-22 Meg ohms, a Simpson 260 or other analog VOM will be much lower input impedance however, 5,000 to 20,000 ohms/volt. What it means ... morein practical terms, it will be much more reliable continuity tester. Or even in my testing of amps, small levels of current. My Tektronix DMM did not pickup the current powering led, and moreover led did not even light up, while Simpson completed the circuit and showed a small current. The point is if you want to measure to 0.5% then DMM is best, but most of the circuits are built with 5-10% tolerance levels, so really it does not matter if you have 3 V or 3.15 V for the testing purposes. Check my recent feedback on a similar meter. Most of the meters here on E-Bay are untested. So that you are really flipping a coin when buying those, I tested it in Amp, Ohm, AC and DC- just take a look at the pictures. VINTAGE B&K PRECISION DYNASCAN MODEL 179 FET VOM MULTIMETER VGC TEST EQUIPMENT
Here we have a vintage FET VOM Multimeter made by B&K Dynascan. It is a precision industrial piece of testing equipment. The FET Field Effect Transistor gives this Volt Ohm Meter the exactness of its readings. The analog sweep needle is ultra sensitive across all functions of the meter(AC. DC, Ohms, DBM and Amps/miliamps) It has a battery on/off switch when its being used as an ohmeter or continuity tester only. The meter is in excellent condition and functions well when measuring higher amps and volts. This meter rivals the classic Simpson 260 for its exactness. Triplett Model 666-HH vintage VOM is in good heavily used condition and working. Tested on AC. DC and Ohms functions, but not tested for accuracy, may require calibration before critical use. Requires one"C" battery(not included) for resistance tests. There has been no battery leakage inside. The unit is well used. Giving it a real vintage look. The case has one chip out of the upper right corner of the main case, and the bakelite is cracked in this area but seems stable at this point. The faceplate has no chips or cracks, and the glass is intact and undamaged. Note that the whole unit(except the glass) has scratches and dirt, and a bit of what is likely paint on one side. The switches work. The unit measures about 6 x 3 x 2-1/2 inches. The leads. One red, one black, work and are still fairly supple. They may or may not be original ... moreto the unit, but look contemporary. The leads measure about 43 inches including plugs and probes. See the photos.
