Vintage Simpson model 260 VOM AC DC voltage tester multimeter
Bidding on a vintage Simpson Model 260 multimeter. The date written inside the case is from 1961. The unit has been bench tested and everything works. A"D" cell battery is required for operating the ohmeter but it has been removed to reduce shipping costs and prevent corrosion. All switches. Knobs and dials work and the meter"zeros" properly. The leather carrying strap is attached. There is no case. The probes are included but the wires have some cracks.

Vintage Simpson Model 260 Multimeter - Leather Handle + Leads
From an estate. I have an early Simpson Model 260 multimeter- I am not sure which series this is. This meter has an intact, although cracking, leather handle. Also included are what I believe may be the original leads. As seen in the photos. The AC voltage and Ohm meter functions work. I also tested the DC voltage by testing a dry cell battery, and it works fine. I did not check current. The case is solid. With no cracks or defects. It does exhibit normal wear and tear. Please note that when I opened the case. There was a burn smell, but the functions that I tested(not amperage) worked fine and I could not detect any malfunction or overheating while I was using it. There is some peeling on the face and a bit of corrosion where a smaller battery should go on the inside(see photos) Also the ZERO OHMS adjustment is a bit touchy. As it jumps ... morea bit when zeroing out. Please use the photos to determine/ confirm condition of the meter. This meter is being sold as-is. So if you have questions, please ask prior to bidding. Vintage 1959 Bakelite Simpson Model 260 Series 3 Multimeter Needs Love- Works! This MultiMeter is in fair condition as it has been partially refurbished. There was a problem at some point with leaked batteries. I cleaned out corrosion with lemon juice to neutralize the alkaline and the battery terminals are now working properly. As you can see in the last two pictures. The needle moves when testing a battery. I wasn't planning on including the leads as they're not in the best shape, but I decided to include them at the last minute. This is a beautiful old meter. The needle is broken off, but as you can see, it still works. With the needle repaired/replaced and a new piece of glass covering the meter itself, this will look Great! Vintage SIMPSON Model 260 SERIES AFP-1 Military Version Multi Meter
Vintage SIMPSON 260 Series AFP-1 Multi Meter(made in USA) Its in excellent cosmetic condition. This is the rare military version with the hard plastic front cover. The batteries used in the 260 Series AFP-1 are a single"D" cell, plus an Eveready 417, 15 Volt battery. It works for voltage but resistance doesn't go all the way to zero and for the Rx10k setting you will need to find a 15v battery to use this setting. I put a new Duracell D battery in it. And found the negative terminal is partly broken but still holds the battery well, one resistor on the board looks burnt, but otherwise its very clean inside and out. Simpson Model 260 Ohm meter Has a Western Electric Co. metal tag on top of case. Also a paper sticker on back from an electrical inspection in the 1970's. The case might be bakelite or some other type of black plastic; is a bit dirty. But in fairly good condition- no cracks or chips to case. No connector wires and it's not been tested. I dont know how. Vintage Simpson Model 260 Series 6XLP VOLT OHM MILLIAMMETER Multimeter NMIB
This is a fantastic multi-meter in fantastic condition with it's original box. Instruction manuals and original tags on the handle. Works great! Just tested before doing the listing. Multi-meter is bright and shiny. Has 2 small paint drippings on the bottom of the case that will come off but I did not mess with them. Beautiful face on the meter. Switches are tight and click from position to position as expected. This is the vintage, Simpson 260 series 6XLP. Cables are still soft and supple and have the original waxy covering still evident. Included is the original Operators Manual for the 5000 VAC probe that is crisp and clean with tight staples. Also included is the original owner's manual that is bright and clean and has tight staples and also includes the original pink warranty card that is unused and clean and bright(not shown ... morein pictures) As an added bonus the original owner's manual for the 5000 VAC AC probe, also in unused, fantastic condition. All of the stapes on the operator's manuals are tight and the manuals themselves only show minor rubbing. The original box has the foam inserts and it is pretty solid, but, it does show shelf wear, rubbing and some tearing along the opening edge flaps. There are also some holes and a large scuff on the box. This Simpson multi-meter has not seen much use. It is in fantastic condition. Please review the pictures carefully so that you can determine condition and quality for yourself. How many times are you going to find a great meter in this condition with it's original box and owner's operator's manuals?
