All functions ... moreare working correctly. Photos show the meter measuring DC voltage and current. I measured the AC wall outlet accurately and also measured 10ohm. 150ohm, 1000ohm and 10,000 ohm resistors with expected accuracy. The meter doesn't quite zero on the Rx1 scale but didn't seem to affect the measurement of the 10 ohm resistor. Things I've done for the meter: ~Replaced both batteries ~Replaced the only paper capacitor with a new film capacitor. 0.1mf@630volts. ~Cleaned the case and polished completely with Novus#2 plastic polish. ~Polished the shoulder screws that secure the handle ~Tested all functions of the meter. This is a very nice example of a classic Simpson meter. This auction includes only the Simpson meter. The Fluke meter and test leads shown in the photos are not included. Manuals for all the Simpson meters and adaptors can be found at Simpson260 on the web.

It's being sold AS-IS, for parts or repair. I don't have any test leads for this. I don't have the instructions. Vintage Simpson 260 series 7 milliampmeter with leather case. Unable to test if it still functions. It is scuffed up. Mostly on the back and sides. Handle is in good shape, display glass is undamaged. Battery compartment is clean. Fuses present and as best I can see still good. The only true damage I can see is a small crack on the top left of the display cover- shown in the 3rd photo. The matching case is fuctional but beat up. All snaps are present and work. The back is split open around the edges. The corners on the top are also popped open. I have tried to describe it as best as posible. It looks good and I don't see why it won't still work. Housed in a Simpson Roll Top Safety Case(Catalog No. 00248) As you can see from the close up pics of the battery compartment, this unit has never had batteries installed, and has never been used. I am listing it as"used" just because it is older, but I can assure you it has only been out of the box long enough for me for me to take these photos. The tester itself is a normal 260 Series 7. The additional Safety Case simply screws to the existing case. Using threaded holes that already exist in the case of the tester. Vintage Simpson Model 260 Analog Multimeter Series 7 Tested and working. I have found 2 issue with this unit. 1. The ohms X1 does not go all the way to zero. 2. The D-cell Negative contact has been damaged by corrotion.still works. But it may be responsible for the X1 Ohms not going all the way to zero. All Fuses were tested and are good.
