Simpson 262 Volt Ohm Current Multi Meter for PARTS
Here is a Simpson model 262 multimeter that dates from around the 1960's. The meter is in poor condition but still has some good components that may serve to restore another meter back to its originality. Unfortunately the actual meter movement has issues: the needle is bent at its end; there are small flecks of paint coming off the white background and the needle sometimes sticks at midscale-possibly caused by the flecks of paint getting into the needle pivot mechanism. There is also a broken back cover screw and a couple of the other screws are bent. Plus there is a small chipped area in the front cover corner. The rear cover is fully intack, no chips or cracks in the bakelite, but there are a number of scratches and markings. So, overall this meter is in very rough shape and really only good for parts, but it's one of those items ... moreI'd hate to throw away because maybe someone needs a knob or resistor or jack or some other no-longer-availble part. The dial and glass are excellent.The rubber coating on the steel handle is in very good condition. The sides of the case wear the handle is attached show some wear/scuffing from the handle rotating. I do not think that the leads included are original. They are Bueler Electric clips with 2 nails(removable) clipped to the end. They are red and black twisted strand wire. The 3 front knobs all work well. I have taken pictures of the battery compartment areas that look quite clean. I will send with AA batteries installed because it holds the retaining battery plates in position better. It is 110V with power cord and optional rechargeable internal batteries( I.M sure they don't hold a charge for long, but never know) This comes with genuine Fluke probe wire leads. The Hard case is old, but still functions as should. The meter has no cracks the display works nice and the Handle which is also a prop Stand works as should. All the buttons function as should.
