Includes 2 leads and 3 other things I can't name- see photos- and a little"contact burnisher" Also the instructions, and even what appears to be the original battery! Appears to be in excellent condition. I can't test this so please let photos be your guide. This unit was owned by a gentlemen who was meticulous about all his equipment. Vintage Hickok Multimeter Model 4956 volts, mills, ohms, electrical test meter
This is a nice old meter. I tested a DC voltage and it worked fine. I did not try any other tests. The needle will zero only when setting flat on its back. There is an old Burgess 4 1/2 volt battery in it that showed 3.3 volts. And a Ray-O-Vac 1 1/2 volt battery that showed only 179.5 mV. I wonder if they may have picked up a slight charge from the testing that I did, as I assumed that they would be completely dead. The case is in pretty good condition. It has a few stains and chips here and there. The leather handle shows some cracking. The test leads are brittle and have multiple cracks in the casing. They are also tied in a loose knot that I didn't attempt to undo. The unit is approximately; 7 1/2" tall. 4 3/4" wide, and 3 1/2" deep including the thickness of the meter lens/housing. I had a K155ED Russian Nixie driver which I replaced the original 7441 with, and it's all working great now! The original cord is missing, and the previous owner soldered a cable inside. I decided to leave this'hack' as I do not have a suitable power cord either. BE AWARE! There is a live pin sticking out of the back. I was going to remove them, but I thought you as the new owner may want to use a removable cord. This will give you the option. I am placing a piece of black tape over ... morethe hole, and I have heat shrink on one of the pins. I am also included a set of leads which was included with the device. For your consideration is this vintage ATLAS Brand. Model 9-101 Circuit Tester. This unit is made by Atlas Supply Company in Springfield, NJ USA. I installed a single D-size battery into the unit and it all functions as designed. This piece of electronics test equipment measures ohms on R x 1 and on R x 1000 scales and volts on a 0 to 18V scale and 0 to 1.8V scale(1.8V scale is spring action) The"Test Selector" selects function. There is a 0 ohms knob and the resistance scale selector switch. There are ports for AC current but there are no AC markings for the needle to read. This has not been tested. The exterior components look to be complete. The indicator needle adjuster works well.
