Vintage 1959 Bakelite Simpson Model 260 Series 3 Multimeter Needs Love- Works! This MultiMeter is in fair condition as it has been partially refurbished. There was a problem at some point with leaked batteries. I cleaned out corrosion with lemon juice to neutralize the alkaline and the battery terminals are now working properly. As you can see in the last two pictures. The needle moves when testing a battery. I wasn't planning on including the leads as they're not in the best shape, but I decided to include them at the last minute. This is a beautiful old meter. The needle is broken off, but as you can see, it still works. With the needle repaired/replaced and a new piece of glass covering the meter itself, this will look Great! This is a Nice Vintage Electronic US NAVY Simpson PSM-4D Multimeter used in the Navy Department Bureau of Ships to test Ship electronics. It has a Water tight Bakelite Case and Directions for use on the inside cover. This meter had the batteries left inside and therefore they leaked and rusted the contact points. If replaced I assume the meter would function. However. It is UN- tested and being sold AS IS for parts or repair. No leads are included. The case is in great shape with some scuffs and light scratches. There is a small chip area in the corner that is hard to see. It is shown in the photos. The screen is very clean and clear.
