DC voltage measurements were checked against my calibrated Beckman 310 DVM with 12 volts DC(see photos 8 and 9) Then the meter was switched to OHMS- see photos 10 and 11- shows the meter with clip and probe open and meter needle at right hand end of scale… the with clip and probe together and meter needle at left hand end of scale for 0 Ohms. Up for auction is a Vintage Simpson 312 VTVM Meter with Probe as is. The meter powers on. I could not get it to zero out and then return to full scale for checking ohms- may need some type of calibrating. I did not test voltage. It requires a C battery for ohm readings(included) The inside looks clean with no battery leakage. There is at least one capacitor that probably needs to be replaced- it is a 1000v.068. The electrolytic capacitor has been replaced. The zero ohms knob looks like it has touched something hot and melted a little but. Functions ok. The meter has not been tested but was given a detailed inspection. The power cord is in tact and in good shape. The plastic lens on the meter is in tact with no major scratches or cracks. All of the buttons and knobs on front are present. Turns smoothly and properly lines up with the selected settings. The needle on the scale bounces and moves smoothly. This meter contains 2 tubes. The tubes were removed, tested and reinstalled(1ea 6AL5-strong and 1ea 12AU7-weak) The unit appears to be in good shape. There are no burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. Falling off as frequency increases. The frequency range of the voltmeter is 20 Hz to 700MHz, although measurements can be made at much higher frequencies with reduced accuracy. I had a little look and found some NOS tubes amongst my spares thus installed Tubes: 12AU7. 6AL5. new old stock, never have been used before! From the first 2 pictures. This auction is for an Heathkit Model V-7A Vacuum Tube Voltmeter. The control knobs are original and all turn as they should. As the photos show. The inside of the meter is in reasonable condition without serious corrosion or other damage. I powered the meter slowly using a Variac. The needle was stable and could be set to zero on the AC, DC- and DC+ settings, using the appropriate control knob. Without a battery installed the Ohms scale could not be checked. Without a probe or the other test leads, I could not check the meter's performance or accuracy. Therefore, I am listing it for sale"For Parts or Not Working" In my opinion, this meter could be restored to proper working condition by replacing aged and out-of-tolerance capacitors, resistors, and perhaps the selenium rectifier as needed.

Selling a pair of Heathkit voltmeters in rough condition. One has a cracked faceplate and the power cord has been lengthened. This is the V-6, the other one is a V-7A and is missing the two screws on the back. Both do light up when plugged in and turned on. Please look closely at all the pics and know that there is damage from normal wear and tear and a dent or two so they may or may not work, they are in as is condition. Hickok Vacuum Tube Volt-Ohm-Milliammeter VTV Meter Model 209A
Here for sale is a used Hickok 209A. The leads are missing. And there are signs of wear on the chassis including some scratching and bumping. The large meter looks in very good condition and the needle moves when the machine is moved. The dials all turn, but the power button appears to have broken off. I plugged the meter into an outlet, and the Pilot Light did light up. I cannot say the tester is working condition as I do not have the leads. But will give a full refund if buyer is not satisfied.

Triplett 850 VTVM Vacuum Tube Multimeter VOM
This unit is repaired and fully functional. It has been calibrated with a less than 10% margin of error on each setting. This unit takes approximately 2-3 minutes to warm up since it is tube based technology. It also takes a C battery for the ohms function. This unit is reliable(it has worked all these years) and many techs like the needle action so that they can see activity on what they are testing. This unit measures AC peak to peak voltage(and has a scale for RMS voltage) Negative DC volts, positive DC volts, and ohms. This unit has a setting for measuring voltages between half a volt on down to zero. It will also measure DC voltages up to 1,500 volts(yes that is a lot) and it will measure AC voltages up to 4,000 peak to peak which is about 1,200 RMS AC volts(yes, that is a lot) My new Fluke meter won't go that high.
