Vintage Minty Simpson 260 5P Overload Protected w/ Leads and Manual – Untested
The cabinet is shiny with no chips or cracks and the white printing still looks crisp. The glass and scale look equally good. I bought this at an estate sale recently where almost all of the“guy things” were great old plumbers/pipe fitter tools that were heavily used. The owner probably bought it because he thought that he would need it occasionally. But I don’t think that he ever took it out on service calls. Testing AC and DC looked good, but the three“R” ranges didn’t seem normal. Touching the leads together on the RX10,000 setting causes the meter to peg. The R1 and R100 settings do allow you to zero the meter but I don’t think they are accurate. Because of this I am offering this AS IS. For the testing this I put in a new D cell(included) The old 15 volt battery tested good.
