The first(most significant) digit does not go all the way to 9 so the picture of the power up display will not be fully illuminated. This is NOT AN ERROR or faulty display, it is by design. This Model 27FM military unit and is in good used condition and it has been completely checked out and is functional on all scales and all settings. This unit came out of military stores and was calibrated as part of the acceptance and was kept on a metrology(calibration) cycle. According to regs, and was kept in tip top shape. Most people do not realize that this is the only TrueRMS model of the series. The 27 is no longer in use with the US military but is still in use with some NATO countries.
