Here I have a working Sybron Thermolyne 1400 Table top Furnace beleived to be model FB1415M. Came from a Soil Lab and used for testing organic content in soil sample. The gauge cover is missing and the needle on the gauge is damaged. The gauge will need to be replaced as you will not be able to determine the correct output because of the damaged needle. That looks like an easy fix if you can get another replacement gauge. The furnace heats up great. There is a etching on the top from an engraver for inventory of lab equipment. That does not effect the operation of the unit. Has burned off paint above the front door as you see in the photo's. This is common with these furnaces. Powers up and Heats Up. The thermometer seems to lag behind the heating quite a bit. So I don't know if that part is working properly. Because of electrical limitations, I didn't dare turn the heat all the way up on high, but it certainly heated up nicely. At less than 90% on each setting of Low, Medium and High the heat light would cycle on and off regularly. The Main light stayed on all the while. The longer I kept the furnace on, the higher the temperature readout went, so the thermometer is working at least that much. I could also hear the furnace make noise like a motorized timer and I could hear as the heating elements turned on and off. At more than 90% the heat light stayed on constantly. This oven has dings and dents and bumps to the stainless steel case. There is also a crack to the ceramic liner as shown. Ceramic has also broken off in little bits from the"ribs" that separate the heating elements inside(here and there- not enough to be a concern I think) There is tape and sticker residue on the case from where the door was taped closed during handling by the state. Outer dimensions are 12.5" high. 17" wide, and 14" depth. Inner dimensions of furnace are 4.5" high, 8" wide, and 9" in depth. 115 Volts, 14 Amps. It is in good used condition with minor spots of surface rust and has one small area where the metal has burned away(near the top vent hole(does not seem to interfere with functioning as the cover for vent hole covers this as well;still. I don't know much about this. Looks like a miniature kiln to me. I bought it at an estate sale. The man had a gun ammo shop so I'm not sure if he used it in in connection with that or not. I plugged it in and it heated up to 500 in just a few minutes so I would say it is working. Everything seems to be in good shape as far as I can tell. There is some scratching on the exterior but nothing major. It is 14 1/2" x 11" x 9 1/2" The inside dimensions are 6 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" By looking at the condition. It really doesn't look like it was used much.
