The cast ceramic fiber insulation is in good condition as well. I don't know a lot about this unit. But I will describe what I see: This is not a"split-tube" furnace, it is one solid piece. There is an opening at the bottom. As you can see in the last few pictures. The white pipe looking pieces(shown on the floor in front of the furnace) used to be inside the furnace, but they cracked. So we removed them. They appear to be made of some sort of ceramic material. I don't know if they are necessary ... morepieces or not.
