Large Vintage Crucible Smelter Metal Gold Silver Copper Melting Pot
Offered is this interesting crucible. There looks to be some markings on the base but they have blurred beyond comprehension. I'm unsure of the age of the crucible or what it is composed of. It was discovered in SE Pennsylvania. The crucible is in good condition. Used with a nice patina due to melted metal on the inside and outside. One little chip(1/2" to the inside of the lip, looks like a tiny piece of the melted metal came off and exposed the actual crucible, nothing major. No cracks or breaks. Measures 6 3/4" tall x 5 3/8" wide at the top and 4" wide at the bottom. Weighs 3lbs 3.8oz. All of my items are packed securely and shipped as fast as possible. Heavy pair of mini cauldrons or boiling pots for what purpose. I am not sure. Unusual! The larger black one is made of iron, stands roughly 4" tall x 5" diameter at the rim and has a brass handle. The smaller one is 3" tall x 4-1/2" diameter at the rim, and made from cast aluminum with a steel handle. It is marked on the bottom. They seem well made, as if for a specific purpose other than decorative, but I really can not say. Very cool large 1 3/4 cup metal ware enamel coated long handled pourer ladle in medium blue enamel. It stands 3 1/2" tall with a base diameter of 3 1/2" and the 6 1/2" handle. The inside is white enamel coated and shows some brown staining that I believe could be cleaned. There is an area where the enamel is chipped directly under the spout on the inside and exterior as seen in the photos. It still holds liquid perfectly. There are small chips on the interior enamel around the rim. But the flaws only add to its character. It's a neat vintage piece.
