Blue M Rad-O-Glow Furnace For sale is this used Blue M Rad-O-Glow Furnace. It is overall in pretty decent cosmetic condition with the normal few exterior scuffs and scratches. Some of the ceramics on the inside the oven are a little deteriorated though I didn't see any issues that would cause major usability problems. See photos below for more details on physical condition. We wired the oven up and were able to test it out. The oven heated up properly and got quite hot. Though are not sure exactly how hot. The only issue we saw was that the temperature display fluctuated in what it showed. We believe the thermocouple may be bad but it could also be the display. Powers up and Heats Up. The thermometer seems to lag behind the heating quite a bit. So I don't know if that part is working properly. Because of electrical limitations, I didn't dare turn the heat all the way up on high, but it certainly heated up nicely. At less than 90% on each setting of Low, Medium and High the heat light would cycle on and off regularly. The Main light stayed on all the while. The longer I kept the furnace on, the higher the temperature readout went, so the thermometer is working at least that much. I could also hear the furnace make noise like a motorized timer and I could hear as the heating elements turned on and off. At more than 90% the heat light stayed on constantly. This oven has dings and dents and bumps to the stainless steel case. There is also a crack to the ceramic liner as shown. Ceramic has also broken off in little bits from the"ribs" that separate the heating elements inside(here and there- not enough to be a concern I think) There is tape and sticker residue on the case from where the door was taped closed during handling by the state. And I have never run across a Blue M product that says that and I see them all the time. So I think this is a fairly recent vintage product although now it looks like Blue M is part of TPS Thermal Product Solutions. Serial number CW-795 if that tells you anything. I usually don’t get too worked up about the big Blue M ovens. Most of the time they look pretty tired by the time they get to surplus and the logistics of handling and shipping them are an added complication. But this one looked so nice I decided to make an exception(I think most of what you see in the picture of the interior is just dust and should wipe away) And I was struck by how hot this thing can get. 1300 degrees F, which is really high by ... moreoven standards so perhaps furnace is a more apt description. It is of course 3 phase which always makes testing a challenge. And if I am reading the label correctly it is looking for 25 amps on each of the three legs, so presumably that would require 75 amp service? So I don’t know that I will be able to test it even for power. When I retrieve it it will be stored in a building with 3 phase. But I just rent space there and it’s an ongoing business, so access to a suitable outlet may be an issue. I can’t just say excuse me. I am going to unplug your lathe so I can test my oven.
