There was some slight surface rust on a few parts. The inside of the oven has a number of cracks in the ceramics, but it doesn't really look to be falling apart or similar. There are some cracked pieces in the furnace. But it didn't look like they came from the furnace. For more information on the cosmetic condition please refer to the pictures below. This is a used older vintage kiln or furnace- not sure of proper name- It was owned by my grandfather whom passed. I do not know the year it was manufactured. My grand mother told me he only used it a couple times tand sat for years and years- and since has sat in corner of basement. has light surface rust. The plug is frayed-broken insulation in few spots- I did plug it in anyway- the read and green lights lit right up and it got very hot fast- temp guage rose accordingly- The inside is clean and not broken- the elements look great, just the outside needs attention.I would recomend high heat paint- in need of going over painting proper testing and new plug- this is not a toy- I will accept no returns- It may something or it may work fine- I just dont know. like I said it got hot and lit up- Please see actual photos. s/h packing in USA only- ... moreitem is heavy and will be shipped UPS ground at rate of $65.80. This design uses less energy than conventional firebrick kilns. And is also better insulated, so energy is not wasted heating up your workshop. Normally you would use the attached pyrometer(temperature gauge) to set your temperature. This burnout oven does not have a set-point control, the type of temperature control that you find on your kitchen oven. The pyrometer on this oven does not work. Kerr Dental Inlay Furnace Still in working order and with no missing pieces. This furnace is a great survivor piece. If you want to use it for melting gold or baking tiny muffins. You may have to remove the glue used on the cracked door panel. When I turned it on HIGH it heated up incredibly fast, but the glue started shriveling and smelling noxious. I'm not sure how hot it will get as I turned the furnace off before it went over 1000 degrees. I love the nifty little thermometer though! All in all. A very HOT item. It was operated up to 500C in our test. The oven itself is rated to 1500C or so. The ramp set point was entered and auto mode was started and the oven ramped ... moreto the set point with current flow shown on the current meter and then it the flow went to zero after the ramp cylce was over. With that all being said I'm not sure of the extent of the automatic mode.I couldn't tell if I was entering degrees C or ramp rate in auto mode. You will have to play with that. One meter reads current flow in amps with the bar graph. The controller reads temperature and also has other readouts for ramp etc. But I'm not sure of how to program it. Up for bids is a nice OLD Kerr Inlay Furnace. The label has the no. NC P3866. It heats up but we did not leave it plugged in very long. The cord and wiring underneath is rather scary! It is about 13 in. high, including the gauge, 6& 1/2 in. wide including the door lever and 6 in. deep including the front knob. It looks in good condition for its age.
