This Vintage Warren Axe& Tool Co. Peavey. Cant Hook was made in Warren Pennsylvania. William Sager founded the company in 1893. It remained in business until 1950 when it was sold to Collins& Co. Collins continued to make tools at the plant until 1958 when they sold the equipment and property. It iis 58" long with a 44" wood handle and from the collar to the tip of the pike is 14" The pike 4 sided and is is 1 1/2" in diameter at the collar connection. The pike is 4 1/2" long. The pike fits tightly as does the handle. The hook is 11" long from the bolt connection to the point. The point is 3 1/2" long. The tapered handle is 2 1/2" in diameter where it connects to the collar and has a few little scratches and dents typical of a used wooden handled logging tool. There is a screw holding it on that ... moreis shown in the photos. The collar has the number 202 in raised lettering and is shown. I believe the handle is the original but can't be 100% sure. I bought this in Bovey Minnesota 4 years ago. I put a coat of Boiled Linseed oil on it at that time. It has a great look. I suggest this remain retired in a Logging Collection. These are usually found weather damaged. Very worn and rusty with cracked wood and loose handle and pike. and this one isn't. Up for sale is a vintage antique pair of W H Buckingham MFG CO LC-5 17" Inch Tree Pole Climbing Foot Spikes. These are in very good condition. They are very old and have developed a rusty patina over time. The leather is in good shape. It is not dried or cracked. However, it is a bit worn in spots and dirty in others. Also, there is some sort of residue(the white spots, clearly visible in the pictures) on the leather of one of the upper buckles. It is kind of waxy and can be scraped off, but please keep in mind that these are barn fresh, as found, I do not typically clean these sort of item for fear of damaging it by using chemicals or abrasives. You may have better luck. The manufacturer stamps are clearly readable, the buckles are easy fasten/unfasten. Very cool items. Excellent running Pro Series saw with metal case(not carrying case) 170 psi compression cold with machine marks on the piston indicate very low hours. Super clean. It's got a few paint chips but no damage. Top cover and clutch cover are brand new genuine Stihl parts. No aftermarket. I got the saw with those pieces poorly engraved with the previous owners initials. It looked terrible. The clutch cover has self-retaining nuts. You won't lose them. Starts immediately. Has decompression valve. But it's a real easy starter. Bar was also in great shape- until I cleaned it with Goof Off. It blistered the paint. The bar has been painted with Stihl paint(called Grey) Chain was just sharpened with a grinder and has plenty sharpenings left. Bar is 3/8, 050, 20" Has rim sprocket, not spur. Good condition. Saw was not hit by tree or run ... moreover. Came from homeowner, not tree service. You could use this for homeowner chores, but it's really made for the pros- to cut all day. Oiler and brake work correctly. No surprises waiting when you open the box.
