Vintage loggers tape
Up for bidding is a vintage Loggers tape. It measures 3 1/2 inches across. I can find a makers mark or model no. on it. It works pretty good. Sometimes takes a bit for it to retract back in. Spencer Products Original Loggers Tape 50 foot Log USA Made Working Condition
This auction is for a Spencer Products 50 foot ORIGINAL LOGGER's Tape made in Seattle Washington. It appears to be in good operating condition but I am not a logger so that is an inexperienced opinion. The tape has only a minimal amount of rust staining on the edges but not on the flat part so all numbers are clearly read. The black electrical tape wrap at the start of the blade is typically put on by the logger to stiffen and protect the tape as it is hammered into the log. The"nail" is the original from the manufacturer.

These are about 3 3/4" in diameter and some call this size the 50 foot tape although I have seen them with a 75 foot tape in them. What you see is what you get. The first 2 feet of the tape is a little beat up. But it reels back in nicely. The body of this tape measure shows signs of wear consistent with normal use. One of the screws that holds it together is missing, this does not affect it's operation in any way.

3 vintage SPENCER PRODUCTS LOGGERS TAPES from Northern Colorado. all have about 1.5" of electrical tape at the beginning of the tape to protect it. 2& 3 could use some cleaning. 1] The cleanest[see photo 2] rolls in/out smoothly is 66' on one side& 20 meters on the other side. Tape is good w/ about 1 little krink. 2] Rolls in/out smoothly. Its 69' on one side and 69' on the other side, works fine, tape is good w/ some little krinks. 3] Rolls in/out smoothly to 64'16 meters where it stops w/ some tape still inside. its missing 3 screws from the'pillars' that position the side plates.
