This arborist block from CMI is a simple. Robust rigging block for tree removals. The steel arborist block is very basic in design so it can be offered at a very affordable price. The block has a respectable minimum breaking strength(MBS) of 25,000 lb. The upper sheave and screw are retained when the side-plates are opened to install a rigging sling, which eliminates the possibility of a dropped sheave or screw. The block accepts rigging ropes of up to 3/4” diameter, and tree rigging slings up to 3/4” There are other arborist blocks with more advanced features or more polished design. But the basic CMI 3/4” steel arborist block is a great value for the money. Purchase this kit as a package with a Loopie sling and save.

This very unique and old device is called Potlatch Lumber Gauge Pat App’d For. It is metal with an adjustable wheel/coil in the center. It measures the width of cut wood from 1/8 inch to 2 ¾ inches. The tool measures 2 ¼ x 1 1/8 inches(with the two ¾ inch teeth = 1 7/8 inches) Potlatch Lumber Company in Idaho was incorporated in 1903. Merged with other lumbers companies in 1930 becoming Potlatch Forests Inc. changed name to Potlatch Corporation in 1973, Idaho mills closed in 1983, headquarters moved to Spokane, Washington in 1997.
