Vintage USFS United States Forest Service Round Canteen Canvas Metal
This is a vintage U.S. Forest Service canteen. It is made of metal covered with canvas. The lid looks like it may be made of zinc like the old canning jar lids and still screws on tightly. It is in good condition. But the metal trim around the outside of the canteen is dinged and dented and there is light surface rust. The strap is made of canvas and is fitted around the outside of the canteen with about a 24" drop. There is some wear to the strap as shown in the photos, but not all the way through. It measures about 9 1/2" in diameter and about 2 1/2" wide. USFS is stenciled in red on one side of the canteen. A nice canteen to add to a collection or to use, but would recommend a thorough cleaning before using. If you have questions, please let me know. This is a Vintage USFS United States Forest Service Round Metal& Canvas Canteen. The canteen is in good condition for the years of service and miles this canteen has seen. Everything is original even the strap. The strap is worn were it would have rubbed on the top of a Forest Rangers shoulder. The canvas body has a small hole and lifted edge. See photo's. It is dirty and I sell it as I found it. I leave the cleaning to the new owner, YOU. Made by Oasis, this is marked on the cap. Measures about 9 1/4" round and about 4 3/8" thick.

Up for auction. Is a vintage Department of Agriculture Forest Service Suede Leather Apron. It has the Forest Service Logo stamped on the front. The lettering on the Forest Service wording is partially missing. But you can see part of it. The wording for the Department of Agriculture is complete. I am not sure as to the use of this apron. Possibly tree trimming, blacksmith work or welding. It seems to be a scarce item. As I have not been able to find any information about it. It measures 30" long. And 20" wide.
