TEKTRONIX 162 WAVEFORM GENERATOR The generator is in very nice condition with no burned out components. It is complete with no missing parts. I replaced on of the tubes and now they all test good. I also cleaned and lubricated all the dials and switches. Here is some information that I found out about it on the web: The 160 Series of instruments are designed to supply timed pulses of adjustable amplitude and duration. The Type 162 Waveform Generator provides three types of waveforms of adjustable duration and repetition rate pulse. Gate, and sawtooth Generation of the waveform can be initiated either by means of an externally derived electrical impulse. Or by means of front panel controls and switches. Pulse and gate waveforms have a minimum rise time of approximately one uS and an amplitude of 50 V. I purchased this unit to use in my shop! It has served me well and is in working order. As shown in the pictures. serial# 5122) I have not used recently. But turned it on to check some frequencies and amplitude settings on a frequency counter and my Tektronix 453A-2 scope. you can see the results, they appear to be within calibration specs! at least the ones that I checked) I checked more settings. But could not upload the extra pics. This is a solid and clean unit! There are plenty of pictures. So please look and ask any questions. I did not sit down and do a full calibration check the other night when I checked it out.but what I did check was on the money and you can see that in the pictures! This unit is great for signal generation and testing and is what Tektronix recommended in the calibration of their older model oscilloscopes! A must have for your test bench! Two things to note; on the front panel where the power light is located. Someone before me change the lamp to a BNC jack, which is actually great because I did not have to dig up one of the old style connectors. As you can see in the pictures, you just hook a BNC cable to the jack and then to whatever gear you want to use. The other item of note is the black plastic feet on the back.looking from the rear, the right side is broken off and missing and the left side had been broken and re-glued. This is more cosmetic then anything, I never stood it on end anyways, it was always level on my bench! It comes with a power cord and a xerox copy of the manual.
