Vintage Eico Multi-Signal Tester. We purchased this from a gentleman that ran a local RCA Zenith Victor Dealership and Repair shop for over 40 years. He was closing down and we thought someone would love to have this for their collection or to use for testing. The condition is as follows and same as written above: This is a used Vintage signal tester. The outside of the tester box has a few scratches and blemishes other than that the box and exterior components appear to be in good working order. The cord is original and appears to be in working order. The probe and probe cord also appear to be in good working order. The unit was turned on and the light came on. I do not have anything to test it with but it powered up. The gain has a little bit of static in it when turned up or down but that could be do to sitting for a period of time. Vintage Heathkit IT-12 Visual-Aural Radio Signal Tracer w/ Probe w/ Manual Works
SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is a very nice Heathkit Model IT-12 Visual-Aural Signal Tracer. The unit comes with a copy of the assembly and operation manual. Heathkit had permanently attach the probe to this model Signal Tracer.no hunting for probes! A slide switch switches the probe from checking the audio circuits to rf signals. The unit uses both the sound from the speaker and also a"magic eye" tube for visual indication. The eye tube is strong. See photo#8. All the electrolytics were replaced with new units and any resistors out of tolerance were also changed. Both tubes test"good" You'll notice when turning the unit"on" some hum. This is due to the high sensitivity of the tester and the fact that the input grid is at the probe tip permitting it to pick up spurious ac fields. Once you start exploring ... morea chassis and place the probe on a audio or rf point the hum disappears. This unit works fine and is an great aid in troubleshooting problems in vintage radios. Amplifiers and TVs. It's a must on the service bench. The concept and practice of signal tracing is simple and explained in a few pages in the manual. All the knobs are original and all function properly. The Model IT-12 is the successor of Heathkit's Model T-4. The only difference is that the IT-12 has fancier knobs. Circuit is exactly the same. I also have a nice Model T-4 up for auction ending Sunday 6/2/13. If you repair vintage equipment of collect vintage test equipment you should consider this Signal Tracer. You won't find one as clean and as nice as this one. Disconnecting the probe line and adding a phono jack w/ matching impedance resistor will turn this into a great little amplifier for the guitar enthusiasts. It has a built-in speaker and can accept a demod probe(schematic included) to allow audible detection of signals in a receiver. It puts out a signal on all bands and the modulation does create a tone on a nearby receiver. The demod probe is not included but one can be made from the included information in the manual. The manual includes the complete schematic and instructions for how to use the generator for troubleshooting and aligning AM and FM receivers. Sold as-is/as-found. Used Heathkit IT-12 Signal Tracer. Good working condition. I refurbished this piece and used in on my workbench for about four years until I found a better(prettier? unit. Tubes were checked. Caps replaced, out of tolerance resistors replaced, new line cord installed, cabinet repainted. The eye tube is strong. The top handle(not shown) is inside the cabinet if you want to return it to portability. I'm also including my homemade RF probe which is somewhat ugly but fully functional. Vintage Conar Model 230 Signal Tracer * Very Nice *
The Conar 230 uses an untuned front end(in the probe) followed by two stages of TRF followed by a diode detector and 2 stages of audio. The TRF covers from 170 KHz to 1500 KHz in two ranges. Those frequencies include commonly used IF frequencies in AM and shortwave radios as well as much of the AM broadcast band. It contains 7 tubes including a 6AB4 as cathode follower preamp(in the probe) Two 6GM6 for RF amps, 6AV6 as detector& first audio, 6E5 eye tube, 6AQ5 for audio output, and a 6X4 rectifier. A front-panel switch allows use as an audio signal tracer. Lafayette KT-208 RF Signal Generator / Audio Signal Tracer
This is a Lafayette KT-208 combination signal generator and signal tracer. Output bands are 250-850 KC. 850-3000 KC, 3.0-11.0 MC, 11-45 MC, and 35-120 MC(which is actually just the 3rd harmonic of the 11-45MC band) You can tell the equipment is old since it is marked in KC and MC rather than KHz and MHz. The schematic for the equipment is dated 1/10/62. The equipment is in pretty good condition, particularly considering its age. There are some small scuffs and scratches in the case paint, but nothing major. Front panel is in good condition; everything is easily readable; There is a bit of a crack in the pointer of the frequency knob. I verified that there is output on all bands; AM modulation works; signal tracer function also works. Output and input are through phono jacks; no cables are included. Here is another piece of test equipment from my fathers antique radio collection. it is a Lafayette Signal Generator& Tracer. It is very good condition. It has some wear and small chips on the cabinet. There is a fine crack on the clear plastic pointer. It powers up. The signal tracing side works I got white noise and the sound would change when I touched the Probe. The Probe is homemade and is marked R.F. and Audio with a switch. Vintage Feiler TS3A Steathascope signal tracer
This is a Feiler TS-3A Signal Tracer. They labeled it an Electronic“Stethoscope” This signal tracer can be used for AF and RF signals. There is a tube detector built into the probe for RF signals. This signal tracer is very useful to trace signals in old radios. It came from a radio tv shop that was closing its doors for retirement. I would say it is a working unit. It powers up and makes the sound that signal tracers makes. No further testing was done. Due to the age of this unit. It is being sold as is. Unit weighs 12.90 lbs. You see a little brown spot on the lower front edge that is some sort of paint drop near as I can tell. But I didn't want to try to get it off for fear of damaging the plastic. Switches, knobs and speaker are all very good. Output transformer works fine and can be used to test a tube amp's output stage. Wattmeter works and is moderately accurate above 40W. This is a fine example of vintage test equipment that you can use in your shop. This signal tracer uses the following vacuum tubes: 6X4. 12AX7& 6AQ5. All of the tubes test very strong with no shorts. I measured the B+ supply at 330V and everything looks like it's working.The eye tube doesn't have the greatest contrast, but is readily readable. Vintage Signal Tracer, model CA 10 with unusual wooden probe
Here is an odd sort of signal tracer of unknown age and manufacture. Showing only as model CA 10. It features a wooden probe, intended, I assume, to reduce shock potential and minimize spurious noise from the user's hand, as well as headphone and neon bulb monitoring of the signal. It's housed in a fine box with a good cover, solid hinges, and a working front latch. The tracer measures about 6.5" W x 4" H x 6" D and weighs about 2 lbs. unpacked. It will be safely packed and quickly sent by FedEx Ground. I charge only the expected shipping cost with insurance. It didn't do anything when I touched the output of the Signal Generator. I was expecting some type of audio tone. As a result. I'm selling"For Parts- Not fully Functional" Sold as pictured. An RF probe is included but I'm not sure if it is working.
