It always displays.000. This doesn't affect operation in any way. Except not displaying the exact frequency. I have not done any work to investigate since the frequency range and selection is clearly labelled. The knob and pushbutton ranges are labelled with the frequency. And appears to be accurate. I don't know if it needs a cal. It looked ok to me. I've had to epoxy the handle together. It seems to be holding fine. Unit is as- working with a bad display. It was manufactured my Munston Manufacturing, order 1953. Case is very good and appears to be made out of aircraft aluminum. All handles, latches, etc. are in fine shape and functional. Controls are frequency and vernier 2-400 mc. Modulation percent, external off, 400 cycles or 1 kc. Also, pulse in, carrier out functions. Controls are all smooth operating mechanically. All lettering fine. Inside the unit is pristine. We had difficulty getting the whole case open, but as you can see there are all milspec tubes and the RF section is silver plated. You are bidding on a vintage Hewlett Packard model 608C VHF signal generator. HP was one of the great innovators in electronic test equipment starting after World War II. They built superior quality gear which every technician dreamed of owning. This listing is for an HP 608C VHF signal generator. Serial number 010-02831. This beautiful piece of vacuum tube technology covers the frequency range of 10-480 MHz in five bands. Tuning is incredibly precise, and the instrument includes many extra features(see front panel) Construction is very rugged(see photos 6 and 7) HP built these units for field work as well as laboratory bench testing, so they were very tough. It uses 15 vacuum tubes, possibly a record number for this kind of equipment. This unit is in original unmolested condition(see photos) It powers up and generates a signal. But has not ... morebeen tested for accuracy of calibration. Given its age(approx 50 years) the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply should be reformed by bringing up the voltage gradually using a Variac. Or you might just replace them. Nice looking vintage Triumph 1341 signal generator with big vernier airplane-style frequency dial(photo 1) Covers AM frequencies from 100kHz to 96MHz in five bands. Output level is adjustable using a range switch and an attenuation pot. Modulation choices include 400 cycle. External, unmodulated, and 400 cycle audio. Controls are nicely laid out and front panel artwork matches the better known Triumph Oscilloscopes. The unit measures 13" wide by 9" high by 8" deep and weighs about 17 pounds. This 131 is serial number 1045. Made in the USA(see last photo) It's in good cosmetic condition with both output cables and a decent line cord. Some screws are missing from the front panel and the output potentiometer is stiff(needs ... morelubrication) The external modulation socket was either never installed or has been filled with a hole plug(see photo 1) I tested this signal generator using an ordinary AM radio. I set the radio to 1210KHz(where there is no local station) Wrapped an output lead around the antenna, and tuned the signal generator through 1210KHz. As it passed through that frequency the AM radio picked up the signal. I could adjust the signal strength using the output range switch. That is all the testing I did, but it shows that this signal generator is working to some degree. For safety it would be a good idea to replace the power supply capacitors if you plan to use this regularly. I have been collecting and restoring antique electronics for more than 30 years. EICO 147 Signal Tracer Must See Eye Tube Fix Up
This is a model 147 signal tracer made by EICO. It is in very good to excellent condition as seen from photos. This may be the cleanest 147 I have found. I tested this and it is humming. The filter capacitor needs replacing. It is a 20/20/10/10uf(450/450/350/350V. You could use separate capacitors if desired. This would make an excellent tracer when restored. Eye tube is very bright(like new) Unit front and case look great. Because of the hum I am selling for parts or a restoration project. If for any reason there is a problem whether it is with the item.
