Here is a Supreme model 581 Signal and Frequency Modulator. It's in fair condition. I did a soft-start with variac and it came to life. But I don't know if it's working or not. The four tubes lit up and nothing smoked. The four tubes are, 2) 6A7, 6Z4 and a 76. Handle is broke. The oak case has a crack along the grain in the back. All the knobs are original. The dial lights up. The band control moves the back light to the appropriate band. The dial control did work when I acquired it awhile back. It's just a"friction" gizmo that rotates the dial, but it's slipping. Dial is not frozen. Probably needs a bit of adjustment. No test leads included. Inside it's quite clean for it's age. As I do not have the technical knowledge or equipment to do so. It does power on, and the sound system works. When first powered on, the scope showed a bright line that extend about 1/3 of the way across the screen. After I cleaned some of the storage grime from it, and in doing so changed some of the settings, the scope did not light up, but a bouncing dot of light appeared momentarily when I powered it down. As you can see in the pictures the unit powers up and produces a wave form pattern. I am sure that's not calibrated and need fine tuning since it is well over 60 years old. Before anyone ask. You are bidding on the Hickok unit, the oscilloscope is not part of the deal. What you are getting is a vintage Hickok signal generator that does produce wave patterns. Unlike some you might buy that your not sure of what your getting. The only thing that I noticed on it that need attention was the slip coupling for changing the frequency is a little loose. So I did, but please read on, as this is a fine piece of working equipment. Introduced about 1968. The 3100A was recognized as a top performer. It should have too, as it cost about as much as 1/2 the annual wages(roughly $5.000 in 1969, that would be $32.000 in 2014 dollars! of a typical American at the time. It was state of the art and computer engineered(when computers were main frames only and expensive) It provided an enormous amount of selectivity. Had unbelievable accuracy and wide range of capabilities. Many science institutions, like Sandia Labs(where this unit likely came from) NASA, and many universities utilized them in leading edge research. It was used ... moreby the University of Rochester to time Pulsars back in 1969 and to measure the rate of atomic decay at the University of Michigan in 1975. I got my hands on this unit about a year ago. It was purchased from a New Mexico salvage company. It was dirty and didn't function. But it cleaned up well and with a few parts and a little work it was running. The most important repair made was on the OCXO timebase used. The original, a real beauty, was long dead. So, I searched for a stable 1 mhz source and found a nice unit made by Vectron(CO236T) With a little work I was able to install the new oscillator within the casing of the old, and still be able to adjust it just as easily as the original. I have started and stopped this unit many times to observe it's stability and warm up time(some are on the opening sequences on the video) After about 2 hours the unit stabilizes in temperature and frequency at 1,000,000.00 hz +/02hz. I have also tested the AM Modulation. External sweep, external timebase, sweep, amplitude and frequency accuracy. Everything worked nicely. I have tested this excellent unit on video for you to see. I have listed it as not working. Because I cannot verify the computer I/O built into the unit. It may be working fine. The rest of the unit works very nicely, as you will see in the video. Introduced about 1968. The 3100A was recognized as a top performer. It should have too, as it cost about as much as 1/2 the annual wages(roughly $5.000 in 1969, that would be $32.000 in 2014 dollars! of a typical American at the time. It was state of the art and computer engineered(when computers were main frames only and expensive) It provided an enormous amount of selectivity. Had unbelievable accuracy and wide range of capabilities. Many ... morescience institutions, like Sandia Labs(where this unit likely came from) NASA, and many universities utilized them in leading edge research. It was used by the University of Rochester to time Pulsars back in 1969 and to measure the rate of atomic decay at the University of Michigan in 1975. I got my hands on this unit about a year ago. It was purchased from a New Mexico salvage company. It was dirty and didn't function. But it cleaned up well and with a few parts and a little work it was running. The most important repair made was on the OCXO timebase used. The original, a real beauty, was long dead. So, I searched for a stable 1 mhz source and found a nice unit made by Vectron(CO236T) With a little work I was able to install the new oscillator within the casing of the old, and still be able to adjust it just as easily as the original. I have started and stopped this unit many times to observe it's stability and warm up time(some are on the opening sequences on the video) After about 2 hours the unit stabilizes in temperature and frequency at 1,000,000.00 hz +/02hz. Lodestar Combination Signal Generator & Frequency Counter 150MHz
Here are two pieces of test equipment in one. You get a signal generator that goes from 100kHz to 150MHz. You get a frequency counter that goes from 10Hz to 150MHz. I tested the sig gen by using a shortwave radio. It picked up the modulated signals from the generator with no issues and with no direct connection. I tested over 100mhz using an FM radio and it also indicated it saw the signal with no issue. All bands work. The display works fine. Next. I connected the output of my main signal generator to this unit and put it in frequency counter mode. It worked as the specs say all the way up to 150MHz. A nice unit that shows a bit of wear. But looks nice and seems to work great.

This listing is for a very nice. Clean Heathkit model IGW-19 signal generator. Fully Tested and in perfect working condition. It is factory wired and. Except for the color, is identical to the IG-102S. It covers the frequency range from 100 KHz to 110 MHz on six fundamental bands, and from 110 to 220 MHz on a calibrated band of harmonics. It's output can be modulated externally or with it's own internal 400 Hz oscillator. The model IGW-19/ IG-102S differs from the more common model IG-102. It that it has two BNC output jacks on the face of the instrument that provide a high level output directly from the RF oscillator. The power cord is in good condition. The unit could use some extra cleaning. But overall only has a couple of scuffs and scratches from years of use. There are also notes and numbers written on the top and side of the chassis. One of the feet is broken, the kickstand is ... moredetached, but included. There is tape residue on the top and front of the unit. The modules that make up this signal generator are not bolted or screwed into the chassis and can be pulled out. Simpson 421 Signal/Frequency Generator (with Sweep)
This was my starter unit for audio repair. However. I quickly discovered that I needed something with much lower distortion. So I have upgraded to an HP 8903A. I hooked this up to a scope to test it out prior to sale and everything tested fine. I also sprayed it down with deoxit. Unit comes with power cord. Great unit at a good price if you need sweep capabilities.
