Receivers, or transmitting equipment, or as a signal source to a commercial FM radio station power transmitter. Because the frequency range stretches from 100kHz up to 170MHz, they are useful on AM, FM, Aviation com and VOR systems as well as a test system to interface to a GPIB controller to test electronics equipment. These were new in 2007 for $3950 each. Since these are the S1 version, they are set up to use RDS, Radio Data System to allow you to transmit text, song names, etc to equipped receivers. Most of them have never been used in class. I have been using this device for about 1 year and it has worked perfectly. If you want to do work on FM Tuners this is a brilliant all in one device for generating clean FM signals. Physically it is very clean with a bright white front. It is guaranteed to power on and provide both a mono and stereo output. The internal audio generator works as well and it can accept inputs from external audio generators as well which I have tested. It comes with no cables other than a power cable. If you would like a 3 ft homemade coax then please ask and I will include it.
