For sale is an excellent venerable'70s PLL technology RF generator made in England by Krohn-Hite. With an insanely low starting bid of $100. This unit covers the range from 10MHz to 520Mhz(NOTE: this is well above the AM Broadcast band! perfect for test and repair of receivers in the higher amateur bands, FM broadcast, VHF and UHF voice communications bands using CW or standard FM and AM. Unit has internal 400Hz and 1KHz mod tones or external mod can be applied, has an accurate mod meter(right side) and it is SINAD check capable. An external Centronics interface connector is also available on the rear panel, but I have never used this. Unit comes with power cord only and no other cables, accessories, attachments or documents. The smiling dapper fellow in photo 12 is also not included. I do not have an operator's or service manual ... morefor this unit, but its operating controls are the same familiar industry-standard expected on units of its vintage and intuitive to any radio tech or enthusiast. The unit is clean and in great condition both internally and externally. All controls and switches are clean and function smoothly without exception. Cabinet has some minor scuffs but no dents and the only exterior flaw is a missing right-side front corner plastic trim piece next to the mod meter(see photo 7 close-up) Front panel is perfectly clean but has three light rectangular patches where inventory stickers used to be applied. I have never had the unit calibrated and do not know its last cal date with the original owner. But outputs and mod tones are very clean and accurate when measured on my own calibrated equipment. Unit spent most of its service life at a major Canadian government research facility before I acquired it. And it has served me well. I recently acquired a more-modern generator and no longer need this one. I'm a hobbyist. Not a business. This vintage Heathkit IG-42 RF signal generator serial# 095645 has been refurbished and is in good physical and functional condition. It has a frequency range of 100 KHz through 31 MHz in five bands controlled by a front panel band switch and a frequency control. Motorola Model S-1318A FM signal generator- S/N: 887. Made by Measurements. Boonton, NJ- Circa early 1970's. This is a later solid state version of one of the classic pieces of test equipment found on the bench and in the service vans of many two way radio shops of the 50's- 70's- before service monitors became the norm. That's where this particular piece came from- I've had it for 6 years or so and it's worked well for me. Six frequency ranges: 25-32. 32-41, 41-54, 130-175, 400-470, and 890-960(2nd harmonics) Mhz. this is the model that also has an IF band generator built in- BNC jack for output. Those ranges are: 2.4-3.9, 3.9-6.0, 6.8-9.4, and 69-76MHz, plus there are a couple crystal jacks on the front panel for 250 Khz- 1 Mhz. I never had occasion to use the 890-960 band or the IF generator- they both show output ... moreto my frequency counter(the 890-960Mhz RF band reads@ 1/2 the dial frequency) This piece also has the 6dB attenuator pad on the output(you read output level on the right side line on the clear plastic overlay of the output dial) the output of the pad is an"SO-239" UHF female connector that mates with a"PL-259" UHF male. No RF or IF output cable is supplied with this item. I never had this instument calibrated or serviced- it always worked fine for me and the results were completely consistent with the specs of the working equipment that I checked with it. I'm making no specific claims as to it's accuracy. Also included in the auction is the OEM Motorola manual and power cord. I do not have the front cover for this item- the latch bar and hinge pins are in place on the case. Cosmetically it's in good condition with scratches and marks consistent with it's age. It has several features that set it apart from other cheapie generators: 1. It has a calibrated output that goes all the way down to 1 microvolt. 2. The internal shielding keeps signal from leaking out. 3. It has a crystal marker for setting the output frequency. The first two features allow using the E-200D to align sensitive receivers. Eico Model 315 RF Signal Generator Working w BNC Connectors & Manuals
MODEL. FEATURES, CONDITION: The Eico Model 315 is an impressive looking piece of test equipment to have on the bench with its large central tuning dial. Black control knobs, dual pilot lighted dial window, and“suitcase” style portability. The instrument was recently serviced, and the old obsolete Amphenol output connectors were replaced with BNC type that will be much more compatable with today’s cables and adapters. The old oozing wax/ foil capacitors were replaced with modern caps of the proper voltage rating, and it was obvious that this piece had seen very little use, as there were no discolored, swollen or stressed components, nor any dust build-up on the beautifully preserved copper plated chassis. The old stiff power cord was replaced with a safe pliable one, and the unit was tested. Generator will prove to be a valuable instrument ... moreto have when aligning radios, etc where you can switch in the on-board modulation circuit or externally modulate a signal on top of the RF signal. RF signal is adjustable from 75 KHz all the way up to 150 MHz in six adjustable steps on the Band Selector. Smoothly geared tuning condenser has great stability, and the dial index mark accurately points to the proper frequency calibrations. Photos of the electronics will show that this unit has a neat layout on a copper plated chassis. Pots and switches have been properly cleaned and work well, with switches positively engaging. The unit has been tested, and the signals are present at all frequencies. The audio test signal is working as well with a very clean sine wave output. Modulation circuit works as well, and it was interesting to have a radio nearby to listen to the beat note and whistling as the IF and RF frequencies were being matched. Cosmetics are excellent overall with a fine gray textured wrinkle finish on the cabinet, clean front panel, and the carry handle is safe and sturdy. This is an RCA Signal Generator. Model WR-49A. The front and back panels are aluminum and the body is gray painted steel. The cabinet size is 10 ½ in. wide x 6 in. deep. The upper frequency indicator window coves the range from 1.6 to 30 mHz in 3 scales. The lower one covers 85 to 1600 kHz in 3 scales. There are knobs for coarse and fine attenuation. Frequency range switch(6 positions) Mod. AF, tuning, and off/modAF/cw. There are HI and LO RF outputs and AF in/out. A 40 in long dual plug cable is included. I have no way of testing it so it is offered as/is. The pilot light operates when switched on so it is receiving power and the power cord is good. The handle is good. In good mechanical condition(the 5:1 vernier on the tuning knob is smooth as silk) but is being sold as-is since its working condition can't be determined. The pilot lamp lights up(always a good sign) but the vacuum tubes(a 6AU6, a 6X4 and a 6SJ7GT) are missing. The paper label fell off the electrolytic capacitor and is now preserved in a plastic envelope.
