Unit is in good overall condition. I bought this on November 03 of 2013. Purchased from bkoronas for $50+20.27 for shipping. I was just starting out setting up my testing bench for Kenwood radios. The ad stated that unit worked good. When I got it I tested by listening in my HF receiver. Couldn't pick anything up. I also bought a manual from him. I think it was $15, he tossed in a CB mic wiring CD, woopie. While the unit"Worked" The power lamp came on but I couldn't get a signal on my short wave rig. Finally got around to testing it further. I won't lie to you like some sellers. The unit has a bad RF oscillator tube. Puts out 0. The audio oscillator tube is about 60% There is 400hz audio signal output. But no RF. The 4 pin rectifier tube is working but my tube tester will not test a 4 pin tube. Unit needs a 6AU6 tube ... morefor RF. A 6U8 tube for audio osc. wouldn't hurt. May need 5Y3 rectifier tube. Might not. I believe with just an RF oscillator tube. The 6AU6 the unit will work fine. She's in real good shape inside and out. all front case screws are good. None are stripped. Internal components look in very good condition. Cabinet and 4 rubber feet are fine. Test cable will work, I spent an hour re-doing the connector end, it was intermittent. Insulation is dry and cracking though. Power cord is very good for it's age. It should have 1' cut off the cabinet end. It has a couple nicks in the insulation. I think I gave him $15 for the 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Copied manual. You get it for free. I should have. You are buying"As-is" with an HONEST assessment of working condition. He was insistent that unit worked good. I've emailed him 3 times in the last 2 days to let him know I feel he owes me at least a set of tubes. No response whatsoever.
