This is a Vintage Precision Signal Generator E-200-C. It powers up. Not sure if it works as it should as I’m not able to properly test it. It measures about 12W X 11H X 6D. The serial number 50754. It weighs about 12lbs. It is a product of Precision Apparatus Co. Inc. Elmhurst, N.Y. The unit is in pretty good shape considering its age. With the exception of the carry handle, center control knob and the two external cables that have been cut off. see photos) These minor missing items are easily replaced, by anyone handy with tools. Precision E-200C Signal Generator. Refurbished, Calibrated, Guaranteed Unlike nearly every other signal generator sold on e-bay. Which are“as is, dirty, untested, or sold by somebody who says, I don’t know anything about this equipment, this instrument has been completely refurbished, re-calibrated and is fully guaranteed to work perfectly right out of the box. The case was re-painted. The knobs were replaced. The output connectors were changed to the modern BNC type. All the capacitors were replaced and the unit was re-calibrated on all bands against a Hewlett-Packard 5328A frequency counter. It comes with a very clean reproduction copy of the original manual(with schematics) See the photos. The only thing that is not near-perfect is the carrying handle which shows signs of its age. As-is, dirty, not guaranteed or all of these. This instrument is perfect for the radio man who needs a good reliable signal generator that can be used without fixing it first. The manufacturer specified that the dial accuracy of this instrument is within 1% But did not specify 1% OF WHAT. There is a big difference between 1% of the indicated frequency on the dial and 1% of the full scale range. The percentage of indicated frequency is far tighter and more accurate than the percentage of full scale range. In calibrating this generator against a Hewlett-Packard frequency counter, it was set to an accuracy within 1% of the actual dial setting on all frequency bands except the very highest end of the top three bands. Those are within 3% of dial setting, which is well within 1% of the full-scale range. This instrument is supplied with a calibration data sheet that indicates the accuracy on all ranges. Unit is in good overall condition. I bought this on November 03 of 2013. Purchased from bkoronas for $50+20.27 for shipping. I was just starting out setting up my testing bench for Kenwood radios. The ad stated that unit worked good. When I got it I tested by listening in my HF receiver. Couldn't pick anything up. I also bought a manual from him. I think it was $15, he tossed in a CB mic wiring CD, woopie. While the unit"Worked" The power lamp came on but I couldn't get a signal on my short wave rig. Finally got around to testing it further. I won't lie to you like some sellers. The unit has a bad RF oscillator tube. Puts out 0. The audio oscillator tube is about 60% There is 400hz audio signal output. But no RF. The 4 pin rectifier tube is working but my tube tester will not test a 4 pin tube. Unit needs a 6AU6 tube ... morefor RF. A 6U8 tube for audio osc. wouldn't hurt. May need 5Y3 rectifier tube. Might not. I believe with just an RF oscillator tube. The 6AU6 the unit will work fine. She's in real good shape inside and out. all front case screws are good. None are stripped. Internal components look in very good condition. Cabinet and 4 rubber feet are fine. Test cable will work, I spent an hour re-doing the connector end, it was intermittent. Insulation is dry and cracking though. Power cord is very good for it's age. It should have 1' cut off the cabinet end. It has a couple nicks in the insulation. I think I gave him $15 for the 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Copied manual. You get it for free. I should have. You are buying"As-is" with an HONEST assessment of working condition. He was insistent that unit worked good. I've emailed him 3 times in the last 2 days to let him know I feel he owes me at least a set of tubes. No response whatsoever. I have for auction a vintage Precision Apparatus E-400 Sweep/ Signal Generator 5 to 240MHz. I have fully restored it. It has new tubes(8) Capacitors, output cable and polarized power cord. It includes the manual(paper) output cable and a 4.5MHz crystal. I have calibrated it. The pictures show it outputting a 200MHz signal, 100MHz signal and the 4.5MHz crystal signal. I was unable to test(frequency counter does not read“beat” frequencies) the other bands since it uses a high 75MHz fixed oscillator and a low 37.5MHz fixed oscillator to“beat” with the variable oscillator to output bands“A” B” and“D” I did calibrate both fixed oscillators to 37.5 and 77MHz. This is a wonderful piece of vintage test equipment that will complement any bench. The unit has not been fully tested but was given a detailed inspection. The unit has some paint spots on top and some minor surface rust. The handle on top is missing. It was probably a leather handle that dry rotted. The unit was plugged in and it did power up. The plug has a small chip missing. It does not interfere with the operation of the unit. On the front of the unit are 2 plastic dial indicators on top of the main dial. The bottom plastic indicator has melted and somewhat warped and has lost its shape. All of the buttons and knobs are present. Turns smoothly and lines up properly with the required setting. This unit contains tubes. All 3 tubes were removed and ... morereplaced for testing(1ea 6SJ7-strong, 1ea 6C5-strong and 1ea 80-strong) The original 6SJ7 tested weak. I replaced it with a strong 6SJ7. All of the tubes are strong. The unit appears to be in good shape. There are no burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. No operators manuals or test leads. They are missing. PRECISION Signal-Marking Generator Model(E-200-C) Hello! and thank you for looking at my item. Up for bids is a used signal generator manufactured by Precision Apparatus Co in 1957. The unit has not been fully tested but was given a detailed inspection. The unit has some paint chipping spots around the front of the unit. A couple of screws that secures the face plate to the cabinet are missing. The handle on top is in tact and is in good shape. The unit was plugged in and it did power up. On the front of the unit are 2 plastic dial indicators on top of the main dial. The bottom plastic indicator has somewhat bowed and has lost its shape but still in tact. All of the buttons and knobs are present. Turns smoothly and lines up properly with the required setting. This unit contains tubes. All 3 tubes were removed and replaced for testing(1ea ... more6AU6-strong, 1ea 6U8A-strong and 1ea 5Y3GT-strong) The unit appears to be in good shape. There are no burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. No operators manuals or test leads. They are missing. Excellent edition to any vintage radio collector and or radio/component repairer. The unit includes a set of RF test leads and a COPY of the Operating Instructions which contain a schematic and parts list. I did get a output from the RF port(see photo) The output did vary in amplitude and duration when the corresponding knobs were turned. Dynascan B&K Precision FM Multiplex Stereo Signal Generator. Model 2007 with Original Box. This is a quality item from the Dynascan Corporation of Chicago. Illinois. This generator is specifically designed for the alignment of FM receivers. Radios, and stereos. As such, it provides many interesting and unusual functions that are simply not available on conventional signal generators, even those that are much more expensive. For example, the Pre-Emphasis can be set to zero(flat) 50 microseconds(European standard) or 75 microseconds(US/North American standard) via a simple front-panel switch. No changing out of capacitors or resistors is required. You can use this setting to compare the tonal characteristics of vintage European radios, such as the Grundig Satellit series, which were originally designed with the European 50-microsecond standard ... morein mind. This Stereo Signal Generator provides a Composite output. Along with selectable L, R, L+R, L-R, or Line Level outputs. Rear Banana jacks provide a balanced 300-ohm RF output port, along with balanced audio inputs for L and R channels. An RF frequency adjustment trimmer enables adjustment of the output frequency from approximately 88 MHz to 104 MHz. Two additional adjustments are provided for 19-KHz pilot tone level and phase. This device could also be used as a home-based FM broadcasting station or FM transmitter. The L and R audio inputs could be fed. For example, from an iPod, computer sound card, or other audio source. When used with a twinlead folded dipole antenna, this generator seems to provide more solid household coverage than the popular CCrane transmitter.
