Here is an HP 8642B Signal Generator in working condition. It shows. Test 04 of A03 failed" after 35 sec start up self test. It appears to work ok. It has been tested with an HP 8902A measurement receiver and the output level is accurate, the AM and FM levels are accurate and frequency is accurate. It has option 001. I don't have the time to repair this item and have not looked at it. It is a heavy unit at about 72 pounds. There is no guarantee at all on this unit.
