Vintage Hewlett Packard Model 200AB Audio Signal Generator. Tested and Working Serial Number 310-18603 This is a really nice piece of vintage tube test gear that is still very popular with hobbyists and collectors. I have confirmed on the bench that this signal generator will output a distortion-free sine wave between 20Hz and 40KHz at 24.5VRMS into a 600 ohm resistive load across its entire frequency range. Which meets the original specification for this item. I will forward my oscilloscope screenshots of the output signal at full amplitude and at various output frequencies upon request, as I have exceeded my picture count for this item and can't include them here. Fully tested and ready for use right out of the box. I have done the following to bring this item into working condition: 1. Replaced the AC line cord; someone had chopped ... morethe ground prong off of the plug on the original cord. And it was also in bad condition regardless 2. Replaced a faulty 6AQ6A tube in the oscillator stage with a NOS RCA 6AQ6A tube 3. Performed a cosmetic cleaning of the case. Knobs and front panel 4. Oiled the bearings and gears of the front panel frequency selection mechanism and the frequency range switch mechanism. As they were both a little"sticky" 5. Taped up the leather carrying handle with black electrical tape to prevent any further deterioration of the handle Disclosures: 1. There is a very small 60Hz signal"riding on" the output signal when the 1X frequency range is selected and the output amplitude is adjusted for maximum. This appears to happen on the 1X range only. 2. The scale on the large frequency dial is"off" a little. For example the dial must be set to around 940Hz to output a 1000Hz signal. This could be ignored if you are using an external device to verify the output frequency, such as an oscilloscope or counter, and which is a good practice anyway. 3. This is a high end signal generator with internal and external modulation capabilities which can also do digital or high speed analog sweeps. Recently calibrated. In perfect shape, this unit is fitted with option 02B- step attenuator.
