Looks like some modifications have been made- a switch was added(lower left-see photo) and it have a 3 prong plug. Neither modification was made by me so I have no idea what the extra switch is for. Includes a COPY of the Manual which contains a schematic and parts list and a Homemade probe made according to the manual specs. Unit works, all controls work as expected except that at some point the tone stops, my opinion is one of the main tuning cap rotor plates is shorting to stator, causing the tone to stop abruptly as you turn the frequency knob. My eyes arnt good enough to see it, maybe yours are. Possible exposure to smoke, but cleaned up nicely, you can repair and clean again if you so choose.good luck bidding!

This is truly a technological work of art! This Weston audio generator is probably from the 1930s. It has one tube. A#32 tetrode, and operates off two(2) batteries. The construction is superb! The variable capacitor is made by Hamerlund in New York, the tube is an RCA/ Cuningham and the capacitors are Sprague. The filament variable resistor is very unique. It has the wiper connection on a spiral, flexible lead, that uncoils when you rotate it. The attenuator is encased in a heavy metal shield, the same metal that holds the high voltage battery compartment for the anode voltage. The filament battery holder does not have corrosion, as does the contacts. The outside case is near perfect light black wrinkle finish- even the felt feet are excellent! VIZ WA-504B/44D Audio Generator. S/N 14403D7. Excellent cosmetic condition inside and out. I've powered it up and tested the output with an 8 ohm raw frame speaker. It indeed generates signal on both sine and square settings. And no selector seems noisy/scratchy. I have no way to test accuracy/ calibration, so this is offered AS-IS. No leads. Judging from appearance this unit has been lightly used, if at all. Potentiometers and metal can cap seem to date it circa 1986. International bidders please contact me before bidding. The output knob looks original with somebody adding a different silver color insert(see photo) Includes a set of test leads and COPY of the Assembly Manual which includes a schematic and parts list. I did get a output from the output port(see photos) The output did vary in amplitude and duration when the corresponding knobs where turned.
