Up for bids is a used and Triplett Oscilloscope manufactured by the Triplett Instrument Co in Bluffton Ohio around or about 1948 or so. Unit appears to be in good condition with acceptable usage and wear marks. The unit was not fully tested but given a detailed inspection. I plugged in the unit and switched it on. The power light came on and it did not blow my garage circuit. A little bit of paint is chipping around the front of the unit. The lens that covers the small meter on front is in tact with no scratches or cracks. The carrying strap on top is in great condition. No burns or burn smells. All of the buttons and knobs are in good working order and lines up properly with the settings. I did not open the unit for a tube check. Looks like the unit ... morehas never been opened. Operating manual. Probes and test leads are not included. The original cost back in 1948 was around or about $154.00. Unit has the serial number of“2483” I'm sure it would make a great piece for any vintage electrical test equipment collection. BOONTON 102D FM-AM SIGNAL GENERATOR 450khz to 520mhz
This is a working unit but it is not perfect. It is great for working on Ham equipment or any radio with in its frequency range up to 520mhz. I used it with HF gear. I have noticed that it takes about 20 minutes to fully warm up when cold. Also two of the ranges have spots where the output seems to drop. They are the 130-260 range and the 260-520 range. This may just be a problem of cleaning and aligning. Overall this is a great piece of test equipment. One thing you can do is set the output to exactly 50 microvolts to adjust your S meter, or you can use it to calibrate frequency readout. The last picture is of the spec sheet if you are interested. It also comes with the original manual. This is a heavy unit and will be packed well. I've priced it accordingly, So I'm sure you will be happy. It has a 6 digit digital display with electronic vernier fine tuning and internal frequency counter. RF output is(normal) 130 dBm(0.07 microvolt to 1 volt into 50 ohms) and(high) +23 dBm(3 volts) on all bands with restricted AM above +20dBm. The generator comes with the complete instruction manual. The power cord and a basic RG-58 output cable. Condition is excellent but the generator has not been calibrated in some time. However. Up for auction is the following item: 1 Hewlett Packard 8656B AM/FM/Sine Signal Generator. Used, for parts only. It's mechanically in good condition, not scratched to death. One side handle is missing. There is some writing on the faceplace, though it's just Sharpie and might come right off. Unit powers up; all buttons respond to being pressed, though a few are sticky and could stand a cleaning. The display works, and it appears that all segments are good, though the plastic lenses have a little bit of hazing if you inspect them very carefully. Electronically.well. That's why it's a parts-only unit. If you look at the picture of the bottom of the unit with the cover off, you'll see something very important is missing: the final RF generator! It looks like it was carefully removed at some point(all of the wires were de-soldered, ... morenot cut. The RF pipes were unscrewed, not cut and bent) but without that, the unit may look good, but it's kind of useless as a signal generator. So, it's good for the rest of its parts, and if you have an 8565B that's has a working final stage but is damaged in some other way, here's a perfect unit for you. I purchased this unit here on eBay a few weeks back. Figuring it would make a good wintertime project, and I could learn some RF while I was at it.
