Heathkit G-1 Signal Generator. Dials and selectors feel good. Looks quite clean. Previous owner's name is written in Sharpie on top of the unit. I was unable to plug this unit in and test due to the fact that the power cord has dry rotted. I would definitely replace it before applying power to this unit. Heathkit G-1 Signal Generator The Heathkit G-1 provides RF output from 150 KHz to 34 MHz in 5 ranges. The dial has the third harmonic of the highest band calibrated to 102 MHz. The G-1 was obviously designed with surplus sealed capacitors with two of them prominently mounted on the chassis. The first high voltage filter cap is a 1 mF sealed cap. This is the one to have. All three options give a variable modulation source. Reverse power protection and range doubler for a 512 to 1024 MHz top range. Everything seems to work with good accuracy. The only non-operational item is one of the modulation scale back-lights is burnt out. An instrument this old will have plenty of scuffs and scrapes, but HP built these like battleships, so there is nothing serious. I included a power cord and a BNC adapter on the RF OUT. BTW. The three spectrum analyzer traces depict FM, AM, and CW, respectively. The CW is clean on all ranges.
