But should be in working condition. The main issue is that the key is missing. the company that I obtained it from had no idea where the key was. It will need to be re-keyed by a locksmith. Alternatively, you could simply open the control panel and replace the entire key/ ignition module, which would probably be the easiest and cheapest method. As you can see from the photos. The machine is in excellent cosmetic condition and is very clean. It comes with an extra foot switch/ pedal(see photos) Although I have no way to test this without the key. I am willing to offer a satisfaction guarantee. If there were any unforeseen issues once the key/ ignition situation was resolved I would be willing to offer a full refund upon return. Considering the fact that this was in use with no issues up to the day it was removed from service, I do not expect any problems other than needing basic calibration and adjustments. I am offering this at just $2295. Due to the effort needed to re-key. To my knowledge this was the highest powered top model that Coherent produced. The asking price in the'80s appears to have been in the $70,000 to $80,000 range. The parts and components of this unit alone are worth more than the asking price! Giant YAG 1064nm Window, 5 inches diameter !!!
This auction is for a GIANT precision optical window that is antireflection coated for a YAG laser at 1064nm. This window is 5 inches in diameter. And 3/4 inches thick. It looks like it is made of fused silica, and came from a lot of surplus optics from Lawrence Livermore National Labs, so you know it is very precision stuff. I haven't checked the flatness, but most of the similar optics from them were lambda/10 or better. This optics is so expensive that it even has its own serial number etched into the side of the optic, as you can see in the second photo. The coatings have the characteristic yellow coloring of an antireflection coating for YAG, and I have checked that the reflections are negligible of a YAG laser beam. Nice turning mirror for 355nm tripled YAG lasers. Unknown maker. But came in a box of Litton Airtron optics. 19mm dia.x 8mm thick. pristine except for a small discoloration in the coating near the center. The oscillator has two 1/4" rods so is of a dualpass configuration and the amplifier has one 3/8th's" rod. The oscillator module looks perfect. There is no visible debris or optical damage to be seen. The rod in the amplifier module has a very small speck dead center on either the output window or the end of the rod. Otherwise it looks as nice as the oscillator module. Both of these used external resonator optics. Since both modules were water cooled they will have to be flushed or cleaned in some matter which is beyond my means. In fact I don’t know for certain that it is a Quantel or a Continuum piece either since it has absolutely no markings on it. But I have bought and sold a few Quantel/Continuum pieces. And the Nd:YAG laser module in them had a cap on it just like this and the connection pins for the power supply are the same. So I feel pretty certain that it is a Quantel/Continuum piece. What I can’t say is what model it fits. They seem to have a number of Nd:YAG engines for 6, 7, 8, and 9mm rods, and that’s just what I have seen personally. Maybe there are other sizes as well.
