Lexel 95-4 Argon Ion Laser& Power Supply For sale- a Lexel 95 Argon Ion Laser and Power Supply. I initially passed on buying this because I already have too many big ion lasers. Including several Lexel 95 variants. But I guess the original buyer didn’t pick it up in a timely manner so it was offered again. What got me interested the second time around was that I had a chance to open it up and found that it was a 95-4 and that the timer was only showing about 2100 hours. I had a 95-4 awhile back and it sold pretty quickly(something I cannot say for the 95-2 I have listed already) So I thought I would take a chance on it after all. So I bought it in spite of the surplus info which indicated it wasn’t working. I offer that in the spirit of full disclosure. Obviously I could have omitted that bit of information, maybe even added something ... moreridiculous like it came from a working environment. I had expected to open it up and find it had 5000 hours and I would have passed on it a second time. But with reasonably low hours on it I decided to ignore the seller’s condition statement. This came from a large well funded university. My experience has been that sometimes they say something is in great shape and I get it home and it won’t even come on. And then I buy something from them that isn’t working and it works just fine. In the latter case I suspect that it simply is easier to say something doesn’t work if you just want something newer. Nicer, better, particularly if both the old and new piece are expensive. Let me note that both my personal flat panel monitor and HP LaserJet printer that I am currently using had condition codes indicating they needed repair. But no repairs were necessary. So maybe you get lucky. Maybe with 3 phase power(that I don’t have) The right coolant flow, and maybe a purge gas you can fire the thing right up and go to work. Maybe not. Prior to bidding it occurred to me that if in fact it wasn’t working that might be a power supply issue. Possibly an easy fix. So I opened up the PS for some

Thanks for looking at my auction! I am selling my Omni power supply and ALC 60x argon laser. Laser was putting out over 100 milliwatts multiline. But I let it sit up too long. Now it just tick tick ticks. It will need to be restarted with an Oudin coil- which I do not have. Once you get it started and run it for a few hours. It should start normally again without the Oudin coil. Selling: Omni power supply. 60x multiline laser w/ Dayton blower& 2' umbilical. I'm always open to trades for High End Systems"Laser Chorus" or"Viper Laser" parts. Tubes, brick power supplies, cables or viper laser heads. This item is a precision etalon used with frequency doubled UV Coherent argon lasers or holographic grade 488nm lasers. It has a dual purpose coating that rejects the other lines and selects the 488nm line to narrow the bandwith of. The optic is 1/2 inch in diameter and is new in the original shipping tube. I know that they are going to laser diodes for everything lately. But for hard, deep UV, you really cannot beat the performance and long term reliability of frequency doubled argon because of the relative simplicity compared to solid state systems. This item is pretty hard to find I have lots of laser and other unique stuff for sale this week.

The tube is a Lexel Laser model 85S but the magnet sleve is not the original one and have more than 1500 hours use. The tube is almost 547 mm long measured from end to end of brewster windows. I have measured almost 2.5 W@ 26 Amp but now I can not measure I do not have the tunning bed and power supply. Before listing I have tested with high voltage transformer and the light is good in both brewster window and I belibe that the power will be good! This is a Cyonics laser power supply. Model 2101-40MLA. I don't know if this works, never had it going. It was given to me years ago. The 37 pin umbellical cable from a Spectra physics Sp163 head will plug into this power supply, but I don't know if they are electronically compatible.The power light turns on and the fan starts but I have no known compatible laser to test it with.
