This sale is for a used Laboratory Surplus 16 1/4" Diameter x 2 3/4" Thick Optical Flat Mirror. Mirror glass is Corning ULE Ultra Low Expansion Glass. Flatness was rated at better than 1/20th wave. This mirror is in Re-Coatable Condition. As you can see in the photo the reflective surface has some minor scratches. These scratches are not very deep- I can not determine if they go all the way through the reflective coating and affect the ground glass surface. The reflective coating may possibly be removed and re-applied without having to re-grind the glass. The reflection in the mirror in one photo is the ceiling in my warehouse. The black areas on the back of the mirror are remaining adhesive from when it was mounted. I have sold over 10 of these mirrors and this is the last one I have for sale. 12in Diameter Optical Glass Flat BK7 Lens mirror Blank and Aluminium mount 12"
Glass is 12.000 in diameter and 1.492 thick. Weight 15lb 15oz. It is optically clear and in excellent condition almost perfect, no scratches, a couple tiny surface specks on each side can not tell if they are pits, dirt, just in the coating.probably not worth mentioning. I'm guessing the glass is BK7 or similar type judging by its density and can not pass 254nm light, but only a guess. One side has a faint coating, looks like a faint reflective coating maybe 5% reflectance but unknown coating. The flat came out of a large NASA device called a Starfield generator. The glass is a flat but do not know it's grade of flatness so might only be good for mirror/lens blank. The mount is aluminium and weight is 9lb.
