This auction is for one Kodak Series VIII Lens Hood. Which measures about 3 1/8 inches across and about 1 1/2 inches deep(not including the adapter and retaining rings. For sale is a Nikon EL-Nikkor f5.6 80mm enlarger lens with retaining ring and front lens cap. The body of the lens is in very good condition. No wear or scratches. The glass is clear with no scratches. Looking in the back of the lens there are some very small white dots of something that go roughly 1/3 the circumference of the lens where the glass is held by the body. These dots are the size of a pinhead but very noticeable against the black of the lens body. These dots are not visible from the front of the lens. You are bidding on one genuine Argus Series VI or Series 6 filter adapter and retaining ring. Plus a yellow Argus filter, all as pictured. The adapter ring is marked"ARGUS 31.5mm ADAPTER RING MADE IN USA" It is a push-on style. With the inside diameter of the little"fins" about the listed size, and the other side has female Series 6 threads. The retaining ring is unmarked. And has male Series 6 threads. The filter is a Series 6 filter. And is marked"ARGUS 41mm LY OPTICAL GLASS FILTER MADE IN USA" and I would assume that LY means light yellow. Argus Series 6 threads are larger than Kodak or Tiffen Series 6 threads. Both the adapter and the retaining ring are aluminum. Condition of the adapter is excellent. Appearing shiny and unused, with a few tiny tiny scratches in the retaining ring. The filter also looks shiny ... morearound the outside. But there are some scratches and some slight haze(looks like tiny specs when held up to a bright light) in the glass. I clean each used filter enough to assess its condition. But all used filters are going to want a final cleaning when you get them. New filters sometimes get a little bit of haze or cloudiness from sitting in their cases, and again are going to want a final cleaning when you get them. If you are unfamiliar with Series parts and pieces. They are a system of standard sized filters which need an adapter to mount them to a camera. Each Series number denotes a particular size. For example, all Series V filters are the same size, so once you have a Series V adapter for your particular lens, you can then put any Series V filter into that adapter. Most of the filters are unthreaded, and the adapter will need a retaining ring to hold the filter securely in the adapter. I can't tell you anything about Gallinger. The adapter ring is a clamp-on style. With the little setscrew as shown, and inside diameter of the adapter end with the clamp retracted is about 32.1mm. That would be the largest size it would fit over. The retaining ring is threaded. And screws into the adapter with threads that have an outside diameter of about 32.3mm as measured with calipers. The filter or glass size can't be any larger than about 32.1mm, and would fall through the adapter if any smaller than about 31mm. The retaining ring has two tiny notches for a spanner wrench. Tiffen Series VIII 8 Adapter ring with retaining ring , set screws
This is a Series VIII(8) adapter witrh retaining ring in excellent condition. The adapter attaches with 3 set screws on the outside of the lens barrel. Inner diameter of the adapter is 51.5mm. Approximately 2 inches. So if your lens to be fitted is 2 inch diameter or a little less in front, this adapter with retaining ring should work well. The set screws allow for adjustment to fit. There is no reserve, good luck.

International Harvester Retaining Ring Assortment - Part #999 080 R91
This is a kit with an assortment of retaining rings that I purchased in the 1970's. Over the years I have used a few of them- the actual number remaining in the box is shown below. Condition of the plastic box is pretty good but there are a few cracks(see pictures of 2 small cracks in the lid and another larger crack in the left corner part of the box) The hinges are not broken and the lid opens& closes like it should.
