You are bidding on an Oriel 77250 1/8 meter monochromator. This monochromator is used. But looks in very good condition. It does contain a grating, but I am not certain about any details of the grating. Looking through the monochromator it transmits red light near 600 nm and goes through the spectrum to violet light near 400 nm. The light does become brighter at 436 nm when looking at a fluorescent lamp(a strong mercury line is at 435.8 nm) So, it appears to be fairly well calibrated. The crank is fairly smooth- except the crank is slightly harder to turn after every two rotations. I am not sure what is going on. Nothing is slipping. The slight glitch in the rotation of the crank seems to be the only thing less than perfect with this monochromator. Take a close look at the photographs and ask any question. This is an Oriel Spatial Filter Assembly. It comes with a 40X microscope objective. 10 micron pinhole, precision micrometer adjusters for X-Y, and ring for Z, with the original base. Everything is in excellent condition. A different power microscope objective may be available, ask. The adjustments operate very smoothly. The Oriel Multispec Model 77400 1/8 m Spectrograph is in great cosmetic condition. And it comes with a grating inside. The grating does have a diagonal crack on one corner. This unit has been in a laboratory environment since original installation. The input includes an Oriel Model 77860 fiber adapter and fiber optic. The attached Instaspec IV CCD camera. Oriel Model 77131 is a 1024 x 256 element detector, which is externally controlled through a GPIB controller box computer(Oriel Model 77134) via the included 3 m shielded cable. Boot disk and detector instructions are included. PLEASE NOTE- The Multispec 77400 is functional. But note that the grating has a small crack on the corner.
