These were used in conjunction with an acousto-optic modulator(AOM) such as a Crystal Technology. But these optical benches/setups/mounts do not include the AOM. High Resolution Bench Spectrometer Optics This is a high precision research grade spectrometer. It is bench mounted. Resolution = 0.82nm/mm focal Length = 2 m Included are 4 components. 1. Diffraction Grating with mount. 2. 10 inch diameter Collimating Mirror in a mirror mount cell. 3. 10 inch diameter Focusing Mirror in a mirror mount cell within a mirror mounting box. 4. Adjustable Slits. The optical surfaces show some blemishes but these do not diminish the performance more than a few percent. The two mirrors are each 10 inches in diameter and f/8 making this a 2 meter focal length spectrometer. They are made from Pyrex by UPCO Optics and sold by Edmund Scientific. I presume that the surface is aluminum. They are 1.75 inches thick and spherical not parabolic surface. I tried one in a Schlearen camera and it worked great. The mirror mounts ... moreare aluminum anodized black with 2 brass mounting pins on the sides for tilt adjustment. The mirror surface is reduced to 9.5 inches diameter with the mirror retaining ring installed. 4 spring loaded set screws hold the mirror radialy into the cell. 4 spring loaded set screws support the mirror from the back of the cell. I have removed all but 2 radial screws for shipping. I did not want 8 sharp support points stressing the pyrex. I tightened the 2 remaining radial screws. I only have one of the aluminum black anodized mirror mounting boxes. It is 12 X 13 X 5.25 inches with closeable doors. The base is a 1/2 inch thick aluminum disk 10 inches in diameter. 2 slots are cut in this disk for horizontal mirror alignment. There is a brass adjustment screw in the lower rear of the box for mirror vertical adjustment. This box is disassembled for shipping but includes all the screws. The slits are not the ones I used for the example spectrum shown above. I still need those slits. But. I will include the set of slits shown in the photos above.
