Graflex Speed Graphic 4x5 Press Camera, 127mm Ektar Lens, case, 11 Film Holders
Just in time for spring! Here's your chance to rock some old-school analog instagrammatic photo wizardry with this vintage Graflex Speed Graphic 4 x 5 large format view camera. Complete with case, 11 film holders(for 22 exposures) light meter and Model 2 Graphic Film Pack Adapter. The Speed Graphic has 2 shutters- one in the lens(Kodak Ektar 127mm f/4.7- 32. 1/25- 1/400) and one focal plane with speeds from 1/10 up to 1/1000 for quick action shots and the added plus of being able to use barrel lenses. There are three viewfinders- the Kalart synchronized rangefinder(with adjusting screw for lateral coincide) The wire-frame sportsfinder, and the ground glass. It has a fixed back. The bed can drop 15 degrees, there is a little over one-inch of lateral shift, and less than two inches of rise, making it extremely useful for perspective correction ... moreand depth of field enhancement. This particular camera is in fairly serviceable condition. Although the lens has some spotting as indicated in the photo. All movements work as they should and the ground glass is nice& bright. I have not shot with this but it seems like it's in overall fairly well preserved condition. The leather handle is in good shape and the body covering is mostly intact except for a few wear spots as shown in the pics. The film holders have definitely seen some use and still have some writing on them. There are a couple of flash sync cords in the case and I'm assuming it is the original case for the camera. I do not have a key for the lock. But all three clasps open& close fine. Many of the most famous images of the twentieth century were made using the Speed Graphic: two examples are the Hindenburg Explosion of 1937 and the flag raising at Iwo Jima in 1945. Arthur Fellig(Weegee) wrote in his 1945 book Naked City"The only camera I use is a 4x5 Speed Graphic with a Kodak Ektar lens. if you are puzzled about the kind of camera to buy. Get a Speed Graphic" Take his advice and add this to your collection!

The holders are two sided so you can shoot up to 4 plates at a time. Bellows is in excellent condition. Wood is a beautiful teak I believe. It is very light weight. Comes with an 1895 Baush& Lomb Zeiss Convertible Anastigmat lens. It does not say what the focal length is but it covers the ground glass very well. As you can see in the pictures. There is a lot of separation around the inner edges of the front and rear elements of the lens, but the center of the glass is clear. We want to move this camera right away so the first reasonable offer takes it. It shows lots of wear but nothing that will affect the function and operation of the camera. This is a work horse and was build for professional use. The bellows shows wear on some of the corners but there are no light leaks It comes with a 300mm f/5.6 Carl Zeiss Tessar-S lens. The lens has no aperture or shutter but it is great for wet plating. Also included are two wooden 8x10 film holders and a partial box of Kodak Super Pan XX 8x10 sheet film dated 1948. I don't know what to expect from the film ... moreso it is thrown in for fun. This is a great 8x10 for anyone that wants to start exploring the wonders of large format. When folded, 8 1/2" tall x 8 1/2" wide x 4" deep. 4x5 holders measure 4 3/4" tall x 7 1/4" wide x 5/8" deep, a total 11 film holders included. In good original condition. I was told this has been tested and is fully functional. The lens looks good; clear. No cracks. Serial Number: 958866. The 11 4x5 graphic film holders are made by Alkon, except one made by Graflex. Comes with one film pack adapter and 4 film holders, unsure if there is film in any. Untested but appears in very good condition for it's age. Also has leather case with quite a bit of wear as pictured. Strap on side of camera doesn't stay clasped very well so I wouldn't use it for carrying. To me. This 1902 Lancaster Quarter-Plate'Instantograph' is definitely one of the better versions that I've seen of this model. It's also one of the more recent, too First. The lens. This isn't what one would normally see with an'Instantograph' as Lancaster, with little exception, sold their own branded lenses. This is one of'the exceptions' namely a very good condition, small and compact Aldis Brothers f6 Anastigmat, c/w a very good fitting melamine front lens cap and mounted on to a very attractive Emil Busch brass flange. The lens is free of dings and no noticeable scratches, the iris with stops through to f64 very smoothly opens and closes. The glass is bright and clear and free of all defects The holders. They're standard Lancaster designed and are both in a very respectable condition Now for the ... moremain event. The Camera itself: the wood and brass is in a lovely characterful and un-restored condition; as far as I can see the bellows are light tight(but there is always the possibility of some pinholes in the pleats with a Camera of this age) the Camera folds up into the usual'clam shell' shape and the opening/closing catch is working perfectly; the ground glass is in a good state and is fully usable; and attached to the very clean base board is a tripod adapter which can be removed if one would prefer a modern adapter All of my items are sent tracked and insured and I always leave feedback for the items that I am selling as soon as I receive payment from the purchaser I attempt to be very scrupulous with the description of the items that I am selling- if a bidder requires any further information. It combines the rigidity of a metal camera with the light weight of a wooden camera. The camera folds up into a very compact package. This particular Master View has been augmented in a couple of very useful ways: A detachable Graphic viewfinder has been installed for fast framing. The viewfinder can be detached and used to site in subjects before getting out the camera. This is a huge time saver in the field. A pair of snaps have been expertly installed on the camera for attaching a dark cloth. The mating dark cloth is included in the auction. This eliminates the typical dark cloth fumbling and provides a nice dark enclosure for viewing the ground glass. The camera includes a custom manufactured lensboard which has a Horseman bayonet panel receiver installed. This feature allows lenses to be mounted and removed from the camera easily and quickly. Horseman bayonet rings were manufactured for#0 and#1 shutter sizes and. Although rare, do occasionally come up for sale on eBay. It comes with the extension piece for the base. Plus five(5) wood frame Film Holders from various manufacturers. The Camera has a Koilos Lens Assembly which is marked DOPPEL ANASTIGMAT D.R.P. No. 74437 C.P. GOERZ BERLIN No. 54160. Other marks include a patent marking on the brass that reads PAT'D JULY 15. 1902. There is a CENTURY product plate on the front of the Camera. Below the lens. Brass on both sides of the body is marked CENTURY CAMERA CO. ROCHESTER N.Y. The number 22 is impressed into the wood on the back. And on the mating surface of the extension piece. The product plate doesn't specify the model number. But we believe it is the No. 1 based ... moreon the double grooved track on the base(the No. 2 model has triple grooves) The Camera body measures 10-1/2 inches high by about 9-1/2 inches wide. The base measures 20-1/2 inches in length. When the extension is in place. The opening for the frosted glass on the back measures 5 inches high by 7 inches wide. The total weight, with the extra Film Holders, is 8 pounds. The Film Holders have impressed markings in the wood that read: 5x7 EASTMAN FILM(x 2) FOLMER GRAFLEX CORP(x 2) Plus one marked PREMO FILM PACK ADAPTER on its metal surface. They all appear to be in good condition. Our last two pictures show both sides of all five Holders. The Camera looks to be in above average condition for its age. sad to let my old 4x5 go. its just not being used like I wish it was. I'm hoping a passionate photographer will use it. And make great images with it. I bought the body here on ebay with a stock lens. I replaced it with a Nikor 150mm lens I bought from a commercial photographer here in NY. As you can see i have 5 film holders and tons of unopended film to. Some not expired, some expired. All has been refrigerated its entire life. I'm not sure if the polaroid back works. b/c i had issues with it years ago. but then cleaned it out like new, but have not had polaroid to shoot recently. Also there will be a film changing bag included I did not include in image. Any questions please ask. This camera works beautifully. I will consider selling with out lens. Aperture range is 32 to 4.5. There is a Minette 20" shutter cable and six Graphic Riteway#1284 4x5 double sided film holders. Lens features flawless glass with no scratches, cleaning marks, dust, haze, separation, or fungus. The film holders are all in VERY GOOD condition. They show only very light signs of use. Book is in Excellent condition. Cable shutter release is in MINT condition. Vulcanoid case is in about GOOD condition. The case has traveled. Has various decals affixed that I won't try and remove. One is for the 101st Airborne. One is for Brooks Institute Santa Barbara. One is for KLM. Both locking buckles work great. Center lock does not have a key and does not latch properly. All corners are in good shape. Inside has some lining that needs reglued or some TLC but it does it's job nicely. Exterior measurements are 20x14x9. Up for auction is a beautiful E&HT Anthony NPA 5x8 folding tailboard camera. Platyscope C lens, and 3 plate holders with original box. These cameras were produced from 1887-1899. This one is in remarkable condition and is museum quality. The camera: Bellows are original. Supple, and light tight. All the wood is in very good condition. It could use a good cleaning and waxing. The tailboard is in great shape, track slides smoothly and lock down tight. The rear standard has forward and rear tilt, and locks down tight. The ground glass is original and in good condition. The front standard has geared rise and fall. The name plate is in perfect condition. The lens: The lens is a Platyscope C with the original lens cap. You have to see this lens to believe it. Here is a great 4x5 large format Linhof Technika Model III up for bids. If you check the pictures you must agree the camera it’s in fantastic shape. There are no marks on the body, the bellows are perfect, all movements are working, just supreme German workmanship. The lens is a 4.5/135 Schneider Xenar that’s all clear but it’s un-coated, which is mounted in a Compur shutter, all speeds work fine, no hang ups and sound perfect to me. The range finder is all clear and works great, the cam installed is for the 90mm lens. There was a shoe mounted on the top which can use the Graphic view finder, the finder is included but is not shown in the images.
