VARIABLE LASER ATTENUATOR Up for bid is a used. Xerox electronic variable attenuator for linear polarized Helium Neon lasers. The unit uses a electro-optic element and a stationary optic to variably attenuate the laser output power. A simple 0 to 3 VDC low current(less than 1mA) input is all that is needed to operate. The laser output can be fully attenuated at 0 volts or 3 volts depending on the light input plane of polarization and can produce an attenuation ratio of around 50:1. The assembly also has a beam splitter and a photodiode that taps a small amount of the attenuated light for use in a feedback loop circuit. This item is a very small helium neon laser tube. It still works fine and is one of the smallest working hene tubes I've ever seen. This tube needs about 1.000V at 3.5 to 4mA to operate. It would make a nice science fair project if put into a clear plastic case so the tube can be seen running. The first picture is without flash on, the last one is with the flash on. The beam is bright compared to most cheap laser pointers, and is a much prettier shade of red. I have lots of laser and other unique stuff for sale this week.

Spectra-Physics Helium/Neon Laser Model 155 with various lenses & mirrior!
As you can read this is a helium/neon laser rated up to.95mw at 532.8nm Visible Red light. The beam exits at 1/16" in diameter and after only 20ft it is still only 1/4" this means with few focalizing lenses you can keep the beam pretty uniform. It's rated at.98 mw but I don't know how accurate that is because there are many contributing factors like how much usage the gas density and ect. This unit is strong still. It was made in 1982 and still emits a strong beam. For the lenses. There are a few that need replacing but not many, I am including everything I got with this laser in 1 package.
