Large plano convex lens, Bausch & Lomb?
This lens is 6" across and about 5/8" at its highest point and is very clean and in good condition. There's a really tiny nick on the edge(photo 3; the blob at the top of the picture is my thumb) which is hard to photograph- it's more easily felt than seen. Etched in tiny print is: BL 51-86-25-DATE 5-71(photo 4; again hard to shoot) The L is below but overlapping the B- I'm assuming this is a Bausch&Lomb product but couldn't confirm that the BL logo was used by them. It should be completely disassembled and cleaned both mechanically and optically(The 500mm FL 7.25" diameter mirror is dusty) Don't even think of cleaning the flat grating since it is a replica. There are 2 slits. Adjustable both in X& Y axis, the grating is 4" square, 600 lines per mm and blaze angle is 5 degrees 10 minutes.
