Porro 90 degree glass prism 21mm clear aperture
High quality. Uncoated, glass porro prism removed from binoculars. Measures about 21mm(0.83" wide(clear aperture) 43mm(1.7" hypotenuse, and 31mm(1.2" long. In perfect condition, no chips or defects. These prisms can be used in several ways: 1. 90 degree reflector(light goes in 31x21mm side and out the other 31x21mm side) This uses the total internal reflection(TIR) of the uncoated glass to obtain 100% reflectivity at all wavelengths, 2. As a light dispersion prism. With light passing through the hypotenuse and out either shorter side, 3. As a 1 dimensional retro-reflector. With the light ray entering the hypotenuse at approximately 90 degrees to the surface, reflected via TIR off the two 21x31mm sides, and back out the hypotenuse at approximately 90 degrees. This is often used in lasers for alignment compensation, 4.
