Burleigh gimbal mount for 2" optics or mirrors in very nice condition. A true gimbal as both the azimuth and elevation axes are co-planar with the front surface of the mirror. There are three basic subassemblies to the mounts. The gimbal mount with the micrometer spindles; the removable optic carrier mount; and the angle support plate. The micrometer spindles have the large diameter plastic rings affixed for ease and precision of adjustment. Each axis has internal springs to keep the gimbal plates in contact with the micrometer spindles. The optic cell is a removable assembly that is held in place by a large knurled collar from the back(see photo showing cell removed) It is possible to remove the cell from the gimbal mount without disturbing the mount on the bench in order to change optics. These 2.0 inch PMTs were parted from a BICRON scintillation crystal assembly that was comprised of 75 of these PMTs- the BICRON scintillator is offered in my other sale. Beside the silicone light coupling compound that remains on the thin mu metal shields. The PMTs with voltage divider& preamp assemblies are offered in good physical condition. These 2.0 inch PMTs are specified for use with the type 8D8 crystal using Cobolt 57 as the source. This sale is for a single PMT assembly; the PMT is hard-wired to the voltage divider board& the preamp circuitry is connected to the divider board via pins- see photo.
