HEATHKIT RF-1 RF Generator. It is in very good physical and(with 1 exception) functional condition. The cabinet looks nearly new. With a fresh paint job. The RF-1 appeared about 1960 and was produced until about 1963 when it was replaced by the IG102. The primary difference were changes in the cabinet and look(esthetics) of the unit. The circuits are identical. This unit can be set to any desired frequency from about 100Khz to 110 Mhz via a 6 position range switch and and adjustable vernier dial and pointer. RF frequencies with adjustable attenuation via a 3 position coarse and a continuously variable fine attenuation control. This unit is useful anywhere an unmodulated RF signal between 100Khz and 110 Mhz is needed like: testing filter circuits. Adjusting tuners, receivers. shortwave radios, transceivers and any other kinds of frequency ... moresensitive circuit devices. A needed tool for most any workbench! This unit has had the new BNC connectors installed in place of the original style microphone"button" connector. This gives you easy latitude to obtain and use any number of coaxial test leads and connectors commonly used on today's benches(I felt this was important to do) I provide a brand new coaxial BNC terminated set of test leads with gator clip ends to start you off. The switches have been cleaned. The controls have been cleaned and lubricated. And the unit was adjusted for output over all ranges. I checked the electrolytic capacitors for condition and filtration. The signal is clean and quite accurate throughout the ranges and the top most range(110mhz) is quite strong in signal(often this is not so) I like my cabinets to look good and this one was missing some paint. So the cabinet has been cleaned. Then Painted and it looks much nicer! Overall. The results were very pleasing. Please see the photos and watch the video to see for yourself! Unit powers on and the 10 MHz reference signal works(confirmed by a frequency counter in the second picture) First picture shows result of pressing the status button. The relays can be heard clicking as the output power is increased or decreased. All front panel buttons seem to respond as expected. And tested special function codes work(e.g. Deviation meter code goes to correct setting- but don't know if the deviation meter works) Could be as simple as an internal fuse for all I know. I don't know enough about signal generators- and don't have time to thoroughly test and repair. You're welcome to request any simple tests. This is a used HP 8660C RF Signal Generator for parts. This unit partially functions. But caused a known good RF module to keep dropping out. I have used the side panels and the Manual Tuning switch& Tuning RPG to replace ones on a good unit that got broken in shipping. The right handle on this unit is completely broken off. The left handle is broken at the top. This was the shipping damage to the original good unit. The keyboard of this unit appears to function properly and the frequencies can be selected as shown in the first three pictures. I have not performed any troubleshooting on this unit since it was intended to be used only for replacement parts, however, my guess would be that the 11661 Frequency Extension Module is causing the dropouts. Heathkit RF-1 Signal Generator in Excellent Calibrated Condition(The RF-1 is the same as the Heathkit IG-102 with a different color front panel. Internal construction and operating specs are identical. This Heathkit signal generator is in excellent condition. It has been completely checked out and the Heathkit calibration procedure performed. This generator works very well and puts out a stable modulated signal from the AM broadcast band up to 22 MHZ which was the highest frequency I could check with my SW receiver. I was able to check the frequency output up to about 70 MHZ with my bench counter and it worked very well to that range. Out of tolerance resistors have been replaced. All controls operate perfectly and all pots and switches have been cleaned with contact cleaner. The Heathkit calibration procedure has been performed and this unit is very accurate. The attenuation controls work properly and provide an infinite range of output attenuation. As you can see in the pictures this RF-1 is in excellent cosmetic condition and looks and works very well. The case is in exceptional condition. There are no scratches. Rust, paint loss or other signs of abuse. There are no names, numbers, or other previous user added etched or painted symbols. see pictures) The knobs and handle are in excellent condition. This listing is for a very nice. Clean Heathkit model IGW-19 signal generator. Fully Tested and in perfect working condition. It is factory wired and. Except for the color, is identical to the IG-102S. It covers the frequency range from 100 KHz to 110 MHz on six fundamental bands, and from 110 to 220 MHz on a calibrated band of harmonics. It's output can be modulated externally or with it's own internal 400 Hz oscillator. The model IGW-19/ IG-102S differs from the more common model IG-102. It that it has two BNC output jacks on the face of the instrument that provide a high level output directly from the RF oscillator. Do you love a challange? Maybe tearing your hair out? If so. You'll just love this thing! Here is an HP 8657A RF Signal Generator. It's supposed to put out an RF signal from 0.1 to 1040MHz. This one definitely does NOT do that! Oh. It's not that it doesn't output at all, It does. But what it outputs is less of a clean signal, and more of what appears to be RF interference. Yup. It's broken! Think you can fix it? You're a better technician than I. Or at least more optimistic. I've tried troubleshooting it for days. But I really couldn't get much farther than the Attenuator, which does appear to be working. I didn't seem to be getting any signal from the A6 output board. But my scope only goes up to 50MHz, and without a Freq counter, I could only get so far. The power supply board seems to be working well. ... moreWithout much noticeable ripple. So that's not it. There were no obviously blown up/ melted/ exploded/ imploded parts inside. And all the boards are in nice cosmetic shape. This unit does have some nice parts though. The optional High Stability Timebase seems to be working OK. The first scope display shows the clean 10MHz signal coming from it. The other displays are what it's outputting. I'm no expert. But I'm pretty sure this output is NOT normal! Cosmetically. It's ok, not great. Has assorted scuffs and paint chips around the front frame, and a scrape in the front panel under the Address/Local key. It's missing the handles and feet. Guaranteed to to be broken! Good luck! The upper frequency indicator window coves the range from 1.6 to 30 mHz in 3 scales. The lower one covers 85 to 1600 kHz in 3 scales. There are knobs for coarse and fine attenuation. Vintage Heathkit SG-6 RF Signal Generator-Ham Radio test receiver alignment SG6
This is a vintage Heathkit model# SG-6 RF Signal Generator. I received it as part of a large lot of used Amateur Radio and electronic test equipment. It appears to be in good condition and work okay. But because of its age it is sold as-is- it may need recalibration or other maintenance performed. It has scuffs and scratches typical for a unit of this vintage. The only testing I did was to select some frequencies on my ICOM IC-761 HF/Shortwave Receiver, and I was able to hear the output of this signal generator on the Receiver, as I turned the SG-6's frequency dial to match that of the HF Receiver. The SG-6 Signal Generator has a built-in audio tone generator. And it will also accept an external tone or modulation source, or provide output of the internal tone generator for use with other test equipment. There are five selectable frequency ranges from 160 kHz to 50 MHz(with calibrated harmonics to 150 MHz. All of the switches and controls move freely. Heathkit IG-102 AF/RF Generator W/Original Manual
Great clean condition with all functions tested and working. The tubes have been tested and all the switches have been cleaned as you can see the output is on spot. The 400 HZ. audio output works as well i replaced the old microphone jacks with modern BNC connectors so you can use it with most of todays equipment that has BNC input/output connections. I like the compact size of this unit and i'm sure it will fit in on the smallest of work benches. The only flaw i found in on the bottom edge of the face place.There is a slight dent that can be seen in the photo of this area.
