Custom Astatic 332 Crystal Harp Mic Harmonica Microphone Volume Control Adapter!
This Custom Astatic 332 delivers a Great Vintage Crystal Tone! When this old Astatic bullet arrived it looked like it had definitely seen better days. The paint was in terrible condition. The cable was all but destroyed and the original crystal element was a DOA. The customized shell has been powder coated in a beautiful Candy Teal Metallic and the brushed grille ring and black grille are in fair condition as you can see. The original DOA crystal has been replaced with a 1" diameter Japanese crystal element with good output and excellent tone. The microphone is 4 1/2" long from the front of the grille to the bottom of the screw connector and it is 1 1/2" in diagonally across the grille. As you can see a volume control with 10 detent positions has been added below the head of the microphone and a Switchcraft adapter to 1/4" ... morejack is also included with the mic. Their website also refers to the piece as a thermocontroller and the manual I have for it calls it a Precision Resistive Heater Controller. More specs and info available here on their website. Including the price of a new one at $960. Please note the cosmetic difference between the TK1 I am offering and the one on the EKSMA website. So I can’t say for sure they are the identical piece. The EKSPLA website pairs the TK1 with a KK1 oven and that is the oven mentioned in the manual that I have. However. The EKSMA website does not show a KK1, all of the ovens shown there have a C01 or CO1 prefix, with the rest dependent on the size of the crystal you are trying to grow. Also please note that NO oven is being offered ... morehere. Just the controller. As the ovens appear to be readily available the only real question is whether this controller will work with them. I leave that for you to determine before you buy. Powers up as you can see and after I had been pushing the buttons a bit it started flashing the four displays you see. 6.7, 178.1, and 81.0, in sequence.
